2006 Week #11
1st Place BeaudoinBrothers 174 pts
3rd Place FlyingElvis 146.5 pts
5th Place Decepticons 127.5 pts
The summary is provided by Decepticons this week. If you would like to volunteer to write one or a few weekly summaries some time this season, please let me know.
Week 11 was another statement
week for the Beaudoin Brothers with their second win in a row and fourth in six
weeks to tie the Spitoons for first place in the overall standings
. The Brothers did not make the same mistake two
weeks in a row, this week starting Ocho Cinco who had another big game with 3
more TDs for 36.5 points. LT had another huge game, his fourth huge game in a
row. LT has had at least 2 touchdowns in every week since week #5 and now has
22 total touch downs, 8 ahead of the next highest Larry Johnson (FE)
. As of this writing, the oddsmakers have
not yet released the latest odds but it’s widely believed the BB will be the
odds-on favorites after week #11.
The Spitoons were able to keep
pace with the BB with a second place performance. Spi had a second huge game in
a row from Carson Palmer with 27 points but other than that had mostly
pedestrian numbers on offense. Jason Taylor was the leader of the defense with
a ridiculous 30 points . Usually big points from
a defensive player mean multiple touchdowns, but Taylor had one defensive
touchdown. Taylor scored the rest with 5 tackles/assists, 2 forced fumbles, a
sack, 2 passes defensed, and an interception; all by a defensive lineman! AJ
Hawk had another good week to take 1st place in the rookie standings
with an average of 10.3 per week.
Flying Elvis hung onto 3rd
place this week, the benefit of good coaching decisions by FE (88.3% efficiency)
. FE could have easily been beaten by several
teams if it were not for poor coaching decisions by Wax (74.8%), Dec (78.2%),
and Dug (60.5%) (poor Dougongs). FE was led by several good performances Brady
(29.5 pts), LJ (22.5), S Smith (17.5), Leinart (17.5) to offset several shitty
performances by Reed (1), Wilkins (0), Housh (2.5). The third place performance
by FE means they are barely hanging onto a glimpse of the tied for first BB and
Spitoons.
Wax edged out a fourth place
finish on MNF with idiot Plax having a solid 16 point performance. Plax had a
fumble over-turned by review earlier in the game that would’ve swung 4th
place to Dec (of course Plax also had a long reception over-turned that would
have put Wax back ahead of Dec even with the fumble). Wax has only himself to
blame though, as a single lineup change of putting Deion Branch (20.5 pts) in
for moron Randy Moss (goose-egg) would’ve given him 3rd place over FE
. It’s time for the Raiders and Wax to cut
their losses with Moss and stick his ass on the bench.
The Dec were excited to go watch
their favorite team the Eagles battle live with the Titans in a matchup of
several Dec team players. However, Dec was still shit-faced from a wedding the
night before , the game was shitty and so was
Dec’s week in the PQBFL with a disappointing 5th place. Similar to
Wax, if the Dec would’ve made one lineup change and had Brees (23 pts) in for
McNabb (-0.5), they would’ve grabbed 3rd place. Dec was getting
excited about next year’s chances in the PQBFL, but Mcnabb’s injury lowers his
future value significantly
. Dec still picked
up a few valuable rank points from UJ, who had been surging and threatening
Dec’s 4th place in the overall standings.
Poor, poor Dugongs. The Dugongs
max score was up with the league leaders in week #11, but an absolutely shitty
60.5% coaching efficiency resulted in a 6th place
. Lee Evans scored a total of 40 points on the
Dugongs bench, in fact, Evans had more points in Week #11 at 1:30 PM ET than the
Dug starting WR had all day combined
. Dugongs
also lost significant points having Julius Jones starting instead of Travis
Henry, Broncos starting instead of Panthers, and Wimbley starting for Mike
Bell. Mike Bell has to be making Dugong’s pull their hair out as he had 2 TDs
and 107 rush/recv yards a week after being a healthy scratch from the Denver
lineup (but not the Dugongs).
UJ came back to earth with a 7th
place finish after gaining 15 rank points in weeks #9 and 10. UJ had a good
coaching performance with an 89.4% efficiency, but it’s not all that surprising
considering that most of UJ’s backups are backups in the NFL also
. UJ was led by another solid performance from
Willie Parker (15 pts) and good defensive games by Farrior (15) and DB Williams
(17.5). UJ's late season surge took a big hit however when first round pick
LaMont Jordan got a knee injury and he might be out for the rest of the year.
OldNo7 continued their slide
down the standings with Wax with a last place in week #11. After six weeks in
the season, Old was in a logjam at the top of the standings, in third place but
only 1.5 rank points behind 1st place Wax at the time. Since Week
#6, Old has only scored 13 rank points, a putrid 2.6 avg per week
. Only Wax, who has had even a slipper slope
down, and the lowly Dugongs have been worse. Two of Old’s big stars had
off-weeks with Steven Jackson getting only 4.5 pts and Julius Peppers was
shutout. Old did have a decent week from Reggie Bush, as he actually led the
Saints in rushing yards and added 58 receiving yards. If Bush can show some
promise in the later weeks of the season, Old will have a decision to make on
whether he is the long-term franchise answer or not.
Note: sometimes the NFL announces stats changes and according to PQBFL rules, the results are not totally official until Sunday 1pm Eastern.
