Week #6
Week #6 summary provided by FlyingElvis!
It’s an incredibly tight 5 team race after this week with 5 rank
points separating the top 5!
Old No 7 breaks into the win column with 157 points in a somewhat
low scoring PQBFL week and moves into 3rd place overall, only 2 rank
points out of first. The star of the week was Jaxson Smith-Njigba
with 8 receptions, 162 yds and a TD. Caleb Williams has been strong
for Old all year, ranking 6 at QB which is something of a surprise.
Old expected Kyler to be his man but now he is hurt and Caleb
stepped in well. Christian McCaffrey has quietly also produced this
year, ranking #4 overall at RB, and this week scored a TD and
grabbed 16 points. The often maligned Chris Boswell has been
excellent this year, I don’t believe he has missed a FG yet, netting
11 points, and the Steelers defense was all over the lowly Browns
with 6 sacks and 14 points. Individually Tremaine Edmunds had a good
week with 13 and the rookie Tyler Warren had 14 points. No gigantic
scores from any one individual but a steady week across the board
gets Old the win.
2nd place went to Decepticons who missed winning by the slimmest of
margins, .25 points would have tied them with Old. They are now in
4th place but only 3 points off of the lead. Huge scoring from the
QB and RB positions this week for Decept, with Mahomes getting 31.5
on 4 TDs, DeVon Achane racking up 29 with 2 TDs and 128 yds plus 22
yds receiving, and Jonathan Taylor who has been a beast this year
with a TD and 123 yds rushing and 14 yds receiving. An additional
huge contribution of 26 points on 3 TDs came from rookie Cam
Skattebo for the Giants, who looked awesome against the Eagles in a
big surprise. LBs Jack Campbell and Robert Spillane contributed 11
pts each on the IDP side of the ball. Decept’s lineup has some bench
strength concerns though, with only 2 QBs, 1 healthy TE and 2
injuries at the WR position. He also only has one K so when it’s
Washington’s bye week he will get 0 from that position.
Flying Elvis took 3rd this week also narrowly missing the win with
155.75, a measly 1.25 pt difference from 1st. FE is now in 2nd place
1 point off of the lead. FE thought he was going to get the
win with a big performance on Monday night from Drake London who had
158 receiving yds and a TD for 22.75 but it wasn’t enough. LB Bobby
Wagner got 10 pts on Monday night as well, if only he could have
made 2 more tackles!!! Elvis’s team is looking very good with good
depth and they should challenge for the title this year, but the big
concern is the QB position. As long as Hurts stays healthy he should
be ok, but if Hurts goes down the season would turn dramatically, as
his only backup is Bryce Young who’s not very good (QB#24
presently). Josh Jacobs led the way with 26 pts on 2 TDs and 57
receiving yards, and LB (Wagner and Watt) and DB (Elliot)
contributed well. Rookie Jeanty had 13.5 and, while rookie #2, has
only really had one good game so far so he hasn’t yet lived up to
the franchise tag he was given.
The Glorious Bastards took 4th this week with 143 points and remain
in 1st place but by a thread. This week’s showing was slightly
miraculous given he had no kicker and had to use graduate Judkins at
RB to have two of those, but Bijan ran wild scoring 31.75 with a TD
and 170 rush and 68 receiving yards. Wow. Bijan is RB#1 in the
league. Jayden Daniels had a good week with 3 TDs and 26 pts and
George Pickens added 24.25 at WR with a TD and 168 receiving yds.
Its surprising that GB did not start Jamarr this week but that would
have given him 155 pts which still would have him in 4th. TE Trey
McBride had a solid 16.5 pts. After the “talent” positions the
production was very low for GB, garnering only 9 total points from
DL and LB combined, and rookie only got him 3.25.
The last team in the tight pack at the top is Beaudoin Bros. who
scored 138.75 to grab 5th place, and that is where they stand in the
overall standings as well, but again only 4 rank points out of 1st.
Daniel Jones has been an unexpected stud this year, finding new life
as a Colt. He had another solid outing this week with 21 pts on 3TD
passes. D Henry has quieted from a good start as the Ravens continue
their slide. BBs RBs are ranked 15,16 and 17 overall, which is not
great. Two injuries at the position are not helping matters. BB also
has injury problems at WR with Aiyuk and Pearsall hurt and Collins
on bye this week, he started Zay Flowers and Waddle who got a
combined 18.25. Decent production from Jake Ferguson at TE (1 TD,
10.5 pts) and Maxx Crosby (12 pts) helped.
The Admirals came in 6th this week and are in 8th place overall in
the PQBFL standings. The Rams and IDP positions brought this team
the most production this week with the Rams scoring 20.5 and LBs
Sherwood and Burns combining for 30.5. This team must be
disappointed in Josh Allen’s recent past couple of performances.
This week he only got 13 pts in a terrible loss to the Falcons. Not
sure what is happening with the Bills but Patriot fans aren’t sad
about it (and owner Ton is one of those!). At the RB position, Chubb
was on bye this week so the start went to Gibbs and White who
combined for 21.5. The problem though is Adm has two RBs who are
completely useless at the moment, Bigsby and Guerendo, neither of
whom are playing. His other 3 need to stay healthy.
WaxOnWaxOff came in 7th and are now in 6th place overall in the
standings. Baker is a great QB this year (QB3) but had he taken the
chance and started Maye (QB7) he would have had 36.75 pts instead of
23.25. Maye is stepping up as a real star in the league so this team
has solid QB options! At the RB position Saquon didn’t do much this
week as, like the Bills, the Eagles are slipping. Saquon has fallen
to RB12 in the league, surprisingly. At WR, Ladd McConkey had a good
week scoring a TD and scoring 17 pts, but Courtland Sutton had a
miserable one as the Broncos only scored 1 TD against the Jets in
London. What a snooze fest, 13-11. Metcalf had 15.75 but was on the
bench. The good news about that snooze was that the Broncos posted
17.5. On the IDP side, Foye and Edgerrin Cooper combined for 24.5
pts at LB. The biggest miss on the coach’s part this week was
failing to start Jaxson Dart at Rookie. 26.25 pts scored, but his
starter Egbuka only got 3. This resulted in a poor 67.8% coaching
efficiency this week.
8th place went to the Ballers. It’s been tough sledding for this
team since entering the league, which goes to show that it’s hard to
get a relatively new/expansion team off of the ground. Ballers have
a glut of QBs which is a good thing, but the injury to LJax hurts.
He was QB1 (still is) but with the bye this will be 3 straight weeks
without him for Ballers. That said, Goff, Rodgers and Darnold are
all more than adequate backups and all scored better than 19 this
week. Deandre Swift had a big game with a TD and 108 yds rushing and
67 receiving, for 25.5 pts, and TE Ertz scored 13. On the defensive
side, Luvu and Brooks combined for 22 pts at LB, but outside of
these there was little to be happy about. Rookie Gordon scored 0 and
kicker Little missed a PAT and a FG for -2. Puka had a very
unusually bad game with only 3.25 but is still WR1 in the league,
and Brian Thomas Jr. was on the bench this week but scored 19.5.
Last place went to Professor MJ, who actually somewhat disproved the
above point about Ballers last year with a good season, but this
week it was not to be. Stafford and the Rams surprised most with a
terrible offensive performance that no one really could have
predicted against a terrible Ravens D. Kyren Williams did have a TD
though, and scored 13.5. The other bright spot was Jameson Wiliams
who scored 16.25 with a TD for Detroit. This team is banged up at WR
presently with the Nabers loss being particularly bad. While this
team has 6 RBs only Wiliams is in the top 20 in the league
presently. This week all 3 rookies on the team scored 0, with none
playing. It’s always a problem when you get a 0 at any position. The
brightest spot for this team is at QB though, where Professor does
have options. Professor MJ is now in 7th place.
