The
Decepticons' march to first place in the standings continued this
week. The 'Cons had not scored as low as 133.25 pts since week #7
which was the last week where Dec underperformed. But all is
working in Dec's favor right now, and despite the low score the 'Cons
won again, for the fourth time in six weeks and finished no lower than
3rd during this period. Dec is now only 2 rank-points behind Wax
and has taken possession of second place in the standings. With
such a low score, not many did well on Dec's team which had to operate
without a college player because none of Dec's college players had made
it to championship week. The only good game was from A Kamara who
scored 22.5 pts. This man has become a TD machine and forced
Brees (Adm) to take a back seat, except for the TD pass to M Thomas
which helped Dec edge FE and Wax. Dec had a decent game on
defense with 13 pts from the Ravens, 14 pts from Wagner, and 10 pts
from DB K Neal.
FlyingElvis had a subpar week like everyone else, but 128.5 pts was
good enough for 2nd place. Similar to Dec, FE was also without a
college player and was also without a LB because the coach started
injured T Smith. FE was facing a disastrous week until MNF where
AJ Green scored 2 TDs and L Bell scored 1 to go along 182 yards from
scrimmage. Those scores were critical given the lack of scoring
from other PQBFL teams. D Walker also did his part with 15 pts
and on defense the Jaguars scored double digits again and Bosa had a
good game with 14 pts. If FE had started LB Beasley instead of
injured Smith, FE would have won this week. DBs were also not
great with only 3 pts from Church and 5 pts from K Joseph.
WaxOnWaxOff expanded their lead in the standings to 2 rank-points, but
the bad news is that the team behind is now Dec rather than the free
falling Bros. Wax cannot keep up with Dec recently and got beat
by Dec in 5 of the last 6 weeks. R Wilson was the team leader
with 27 pts and he still leads the PQBFL in scoring. At WR, Wax
was worried about A Brown being banged up and started L Fitz
instead. Fitz delivered a clutch performance with 20.75 pts and
even outscored A Brown who was not injured after all. Gronk
scored 16.25 pts all based on strong stats and without a TD. But
the jerk erased his good game with a bone-head move to injure a Bills
DB after an INT. Gronk will be suspended which will hurt Wax given that J Reed
is still not healthy.
The Admirals finished in the middle this week, but by beating Old, they
keep a chance to finish the season in 5th place. Adm is now 6
rank-points behind Old with 4 weeks to go so a comeback is
doable. Adm was without a college player and also without a TE
since Olsen was injured again after only a 1-week comeback.
Tyreek Hill saved the week for Adm with a monster 31.25 pt week.
Without him, Adm could have easily finished last. RBs were also
excellent with 15 pts and 13 pts from M Ingram and T Gurley,
respectively. On the negative side, K Hunt was held in check
again with only 5.25 pts. On defense the Panthers struggled
against the Saints with negative 1 pt. Adm should have started
the Vikings defense instead who scored 7.5 pts from the bench.
OldNo7's season continues to slip away, this time finishing 5th and
dropping to 8 rank-points away from first place. In addition Old
would have to pass 4 teams in the standings, so the task is nearly
impossible and it's rather more likely that Old could fall behind
Adm. Old is not even using weapons at its disposal with the coach
asleep at the wheel on K Allen who has been lighting up the scoreboard
recently but Old keeps starting A Cooper and D Baldwin, even this week
with Cooper being injured. Old avoided the cellar because of
Kelce (22.5 pts) and E Engram (17.75 pts), the latter finally getting
out of his funk with E Manning being benched. However, defense
was abysmal for Old, with only 25 pts total between the Seahawks, F
Cox, Ju Houston, Kirksey, and Mathieu. Given that the Seahawks
were playing the Eagles, Old should have started the Rams D against the
Cards and Old would have scored 12 pts more and would have finished 2nd
instead of 5th. Big difference.
The BeaudoinBrothers finally had to catch up with reality of a weak
lineup and finished 6th. Not only David Johnson does not seem
ready to come back, but this week even backup Adrian Peterson was
injured and Ajayi had to start. He is useless in Philly and only
scored 3.75 pts. Beaud will get the first pick overall in 2018
due to having the most injury points, but as if this was not enough,
this week was particularly painful with in-game injuries to Ertz (3
pts) and Shazier (2 pts) who could not finish the game and leaving
important points on the table in such a tight week. M Lynch was
the only starter with more than 12 pts, thanks to a 51-yard TD but he
did not do much the rest of the game.
After a decent week #12, the GloriousBastards went back to last place,
for the sixth time in 13 weeks and failed to reach 100 pts for the 4th
time. Mariota was ok with 18.75 pts and TE H Henry provided a bit
of a spark with 7 receptions for 81 yards, but the rest of the offense
was terrible. D Freeman was back from injury but limited to 6.75
pts. Duke Johnson went nowhere with only 2 rushing yards. D
Adams only caught 4 short passes, and Diggs was even worse with only 2
receptions. Rookie Mixon did not follow up last week's good game
and he only scored 3.5 pts on MNF. Defense was marginally better
for Bas, with 11.5 pts from L Collins who jumped back to top DB in the
PQBFL, and 10 pts from Bowman.
