Week #8

After finishing no higher than 4th place all year, the Decepticons rose back from the dead with their first win of the season.  The Cons now have at least some hope of competing with 2nd to 5th place if they can string a few good weeks.  The week started on the right foot for Dec with the Ravens D kicking some serious ass on TNF with a shutout of the Dolphins, less than 200 total yards allowed, and 2 defensive TDs.  The rest of the week was also a breeze with TDs coming from unexpected positions such as rookie (Kamara), TE (Rudolph), and even DL (Dunlap).  RB Rawls had to start due to D Murray's bye week but Dec did not even care that Rawls finished the game with negative yards.

WaxOnWaxOff distanced the competition with 2nd place and took a 4 rank-point lead in the standings.  Wax also dominates total points scored, leads in strength of starters, and has no notable injuries to speak of, so at mid point of the season Wax is the clear favorite to win it all.  After a disastrous 2016, R Wilson is clicking on all cylinders and Wax no longer has to wonder which QB to start.  R Wilson scored 36.5 pts against the decent Texans defense, which was the 4th time in the last 5 games that Wilson scored over 30 pts.  He leads all QBs in the PQBFL and given the lack of running game in Seattle, he might very well stay on top.  Wax's RBs continue to be a problem and Wax could have beat Dec with better games from Abdullah (3 pts) or CJ Anderson (7 pts).  WRs did not do all that well either with A Brown and M Evans being held out of the end zone but Wax had a good week on defense with the Chiefs (17 pts) and CJ Mosley (20.5 pts) both scoring TDs.

OldNo7 scored a season-high 158.5 pts but came up short of the top 2 and settled with 3rd place.  Old moved up to second place in the standings which is probably as high as Old as ever been at mid-season in the history of the franchise.  Wentz, McCoy, M Gordon, and Kelce all scored 20 pts or very close to it, to provide over 80 pts from only these four players alone.  Defense was acceptable with scores from 8.5 pts to 15 pts from F Cox, J Houston, and Kirksey.  The Seahawks defense final score of 9.5 pts was more than Old was hoping for against the Texans' offense particularly since the Hawks gave up 38 pts and more than 500 yards of total offense.  The reason why their score was not bad is simply because of a key pick-6.  OldNo7 is happy to escape with 3rd place this week since the team did not have a rookie to start given that E Engram was on bye and the other two rookies were injured.

The BeaudoinBrothers' one-man show resumed this week after a bye week for D Watson in week #7.  Watson was impressive with 37.75 pts on the road against a top-notch defense in Seattle.  He would have had over 40 pts for the second time this season if not for a last second hail mary INT.  Watson continues to lead the entire PQBFL all positions combined which is impressive given that he's just a rookie and he did not play the first half of week #1.  The rest of Beaud's lineup is a shit show except perhaps Brady (16 pts) and Ertz (10.5 pts) who were ok but below projections nonetheless.  At RB, Ajayi continues to suck balls and he finished with only 3.25 pts.  When a RB drafted in the first round ranks 23rd in the PQBFL, that is never good news.  Now he can take his suckiness to Philly.  With A Peterson on bye and stupid M Lynch suspended, Beaud had to start E Lacy but might as well start his grandma because Lacy finished with 6 carries and no yards.  Defense was also bad, notably Mack (3 pts), L David (3 pts), R Jones (6 pts), and the Broncos D (6.5 pts).

The GloriousBastards failed to reach 100 pts but surprisingly took 5th place despite such a shitty week.  Dalton and E Elliott did the job with 20.75 pts each and that was enough to beat FE and Adm.  The rest of the lineup was crap, including the coach who made the mistake of starting Myles Jack on bye instead of Kwon Alexander (10 pts).  Fortunately it was not costly.  N Bowman scored 11 pts with his new team the Raiders, but the rest of the Bas defense was porous particularly the Texans who could not do squat against R Wilson and ended up being the sole reason for the Texans' road loss.  Receivers B Cooks, S Diggs, and H Henry were limited to 63 yards combined, something that rookie RB Mixon exceeded by himself despite not being a receiver (91 yards receiving), but the turd fumbled.

FlyingElvis had a horrible week with only 93 pts and 6th place.  D Hopkins is the only player who showed up for FE with 28 pts in Seattle as he continues to dominate the PQBFL at WR, way ahead A Brown (Wax).  Defense was a disaster with only 16 pts from all individual defenders plus the Raiders D who could not stop the Bills.  The low defensive score is also because LB Beasley only scored a single point, showing that FE missed the top LB in the entire PQBFL T Smith who was on bye.  The coach is also to blame because he started injured DB Karl Joseph and kicker Bailey.  FE also suffered from D Walker's bye week and backup Fleener did not get the job done with only 1 reception which he would have been better off dropping because it went for negative yardage.  rolleyes

The Admirals were back in week #7 with first place, but this week the Admirals were back to last year's suckness with only 76.5 pts, the lowest score of the entire season from all teams by over 20 pts.  LB Clowney and QB Brees were the only ones to reach double-digits, and barely did so (11 pts and 10.75 pts, respectively).  Week #8 was not expected to be great for Adm because TE Bennett was on bye and Olsen is still injured, but it was crap way beyond the TE position, particularly on MNF.  Rookie Hunt barely scored half of his previous season low (5.5 pts this week).  V Miller (3 pts) also had his season-low in that game.  And what about Tyreek Hill who threw that awful INT?  He should stick to catching the ball.  Scoring 0.75 pt was obviously also a season-low for Hill.  Same for Chancellor (4 pts): season-low.  sadbanana
