Week #7

They are BAAAAAACK!  After a disastrous 3-week stretch, the Admirals grabbed their 3rd win of the season.  Even without first round pick ODB, obviously Adm has enough depth at the WR position to keep on going.  T Hill scored 20.5 pts and Dez Bryant scored 15 pts this week.  At RB, Gurley continues to dominate his position and added 18.75 pts this week.  C Hyde has slowed down however and he was benched in favor of D Henry which did not turn out to be a good move.  Henry was limited to 24 yards total.  However Adm has M Ingram on the bench anyway, and with the trade of A Peterson, Ingram will continue to get his carries.  Ingram is currently 6th best RB in the PQBFL so not bad at all for who was supposed to be a backup RB.  Adm was able to win this week despite K Hunt being limited to less than 10 pts unlike earlier this season.  Defense was a difference maker instead.  The Panthers were rock solid in Chicago despite the loss, because the Bears' 14 of 17 pts came when the Panthers' offense was on the field rather than the defense.  The Panthers defense only allowed 153 total yards.  At DL, C Campbell added 2 more sacks for 16 pts and he is currently DL1 in the PQBFL in front of C Jordan (Bas).

OldNo7 rebounded with the team's best week since week #1 when Old opened the season with first place.  Old remains 5th in the standings but only 3-rank points behind 1st place, in an incredibly tight pack at the top and one of the most balanced seasons in years.  The team leaders were D Baldwin and C Kirksey with 21.5 pts each.  Kirksey has not made much noise this year but at least this week he delivered with 8 tackles, 9 assists, and one forced fumble.  At the rookie position, TE Engram is taking advantage of the all the Giants WR injuries to become the prime target for E Manning.  He caught 6 passes and one TD against the Seahawks defense.  Old started QB M Ryan in Green Bay which turned out to be a mistake because Wentz outscored Ryan 34 to 15.75 pts; it was the difference between 1st place and 2nd place.  The pair of Chargers M Gordon and K Allen also did not get the job done with only 3.5 pts and 5 pts, respectively.

WaxOnWaxOff did not have a particularly impressive 134.25 pts but that was enough for 3rd place and moved up to sole possession of first place in the standings.  R Wilson had a strong game with 30.75 pts but 8.25 pts of that was an INT by DB L Collins (so 11.25 pt swing) which was credited as a TD to WR Richardson, despite looking at instant replay.  Surely someone was paid off in the booth to make such an eggregious call and it was the difference between 3rd place and 5th place for Wax.  Wax got a big game this week from DL E Griffen with 17 pts and WR M Evans with 17.25 pts.  The rest of Wax's lineup was mediocre or somewhat quiet, such as 11.75 pts by the starting RB duo and only 5.5 pts from TE Gronk.  The Bucs D was exploited all day by the Bills and finished in negative territory.

FE finished 4th this week and is now only one rank-point from first place overall.  FE scored 127.75 pts so a lot left to be desired but it was enough to stay in the thick of the race.  QB Cousins is making a push to be FE's starting QB instead of D Carr and FE's coach gave the nod to Cousins this week.  It turned out to be a bad call with Carr outscoring Cousins 35 pts to 24.5 pts.  However 24.5 pts is nothing to sneeze at and FE needed those points to edge Dec by a slim 1.5 pt.  L Bell is back on track and he almost reached 200 yards from scrimmage, although without a TD this week.  He is now RB3 in the PQBFL and a no-brainer every week start after shaking some rust due to not participating in training camp.  FE's receivers were poor this week with only 19.25 pts between AJ Green, K Benjamin, and D Walker combined.  All receivers benched did even worse (Funchess, Pryor, Gates, and Fleener) so D Hopkins' bye week affected FE.

The Decepticons not only are having an off-year accross the board, but the team cannot catch a break and is losing the tight matchups such as this week finishing close to, but right behind FE.  Dec got some production from franchise player Ju Jones at last, with 18.75 pts.  Dec also got a modest boost at rookie now that CJ Beathard is starting in SF.  Beathard and his team got smoked 40-10 by the Cowboys, Beathard lost two fumbles, but at least he found a way to score a garbage-time TD late in the 4th quarter to finish with 10.25 pts which is not bad for a rookie.  Dec also played decent defense this week with double-digit scores from K Neal, D Jones, and B Wagner.  RBs were useless again however, with 6.25 pts from D Murray and 2.75 pts from Gore.  Backups were either injured (Perkins), on bye (L Miller), or complete shit (Rawls 1.25 pt).

The GloriousBastards finished 6th and went back to last place in the standings because Dec finished ahead of them.  With Luck seemingly out for a longer period of time than expected during camp, Mariota is needed but he might still be affected by his own injury.  He could not lead his team to a single TD in Cleveland and needed the benefit of OT to scrape a few extra yards because he only had 165 passing yards after the 4th quarter.  He finished the game with a very disappointing 7.25 pts given the opposition.  Apart from B Cooks with 13.25 pts, E Elliott is the only offensive player on Bas' team who produced, destroying the 49ers with 3 TDs and 219 total yards.  Bas could have scored more pts on offense if they had started rookie TE OJ Howard (22 pts) instead of Mixon (5.5 pts).  Mixon has been a bust, ranking 13th best rookie which is nowhere near starter status which is what you would expect from a 5th round pick.  LBs M Jack and D Bucannon also helped Bas avoid last place with 31.5 pts combined.

The BeaudoinBrothers took it on the shin this week and finished last, not even close to 6th place - almost 20 pts behind Bas.  Ertz's MNF game of 5-89-1 was nice but only a miracle was going to keep the Bros out of last place.  This brings to an end the epic long streak of 92 straight weeks for Beaud without finishing last.  The last time it happened was week #16 in 2011.  This is way back when Cedric freakin' Benson was in the NFL (and on Beaud's roster!) and he scored negative points that week for Beaud at RB.  But at least Beaud had the excuse that they did not have a single healthy QB to start because all three were injured.  Fast forward to 2017 week #7, the Bros had rookie D Watson on bye week and we can see that the Bros are a one-man show this year.  Without Watson, this team does not have much to show for.  Backup rookie Kizer scored negative points (again), fucking kicker Bryant missed 2 doable FGs, A Peterson came back to reality with only 2.75 pts and not being helped by C Palmer's injury, and WR D Thomas was horrible with only 2 short receptions despite E Sanders being out due to injury.
