Week #3

The red-hot Admirals won for the second straight week and for the 4th time in the last 9 weeks going back to 2016 week 12.  Adm took sole possession of first place in the standings, 4 rank-points ahead of Old.  Also impressive is that Adm has averaged over 150 pts per week so far, which is almost 20 pts more than second best Beaud.  K Hunt had another monster game of 23.25 pts thanks to a long 69-yd TD.  On TNF, Gurley and Hyde already set the tone for Adm, scoring a combined 5 TDs, which is more than what some other teams can score on any given week in total.  Brees piled it on wth 3 more TDs and 26.25 pts on Sunday, plus ODB's 2 TDs to go along 9 receptions.  To complete the rain of TDs, WR T Hill scored a TD as well for a total of 12 TDs for Adm.  The only negative for Adm was defense, which came back to normal this week and was problematic as was expected before the start of the year.  The Panthers scored negative points, Ansah did not get a single tackle, and Clinton-Dix was limited to 3 pts.

The BeaudoinBrothers finally got started after a weak start (117.5 pts in week 1, 117 pts in week 2) and scored a respectable 158 pts and second place.  Brady did most of the damage by himself, throwing for 5 TDs and 43 pts.  This made up for very poor RB play in the absence of D Johnson, with Ajayi scoring a paltry 2 pts, against the Jets defense to boot, and M Lynch also only scoring 2 pts on SNF.  Rookie Kizer was the only one besides Brady to significantly contribute, thanks to 17.5 pts with 3 TDs despite 3 INTs.  The Bros have quite a bit of ground to make up to catch Adm, but at least they showed they will probably not repeat Wax's 2016 performance when they were preseason favorites and were awful all year.  The Bros will be still be able to compete even though they might not have the best team.

The GloriousBastards got their best week of the season with 3rd place, but they remain in last place in the standings and have also scored the fewest points in the PQBFL in total (only 107 pts per week).  A Luck's absence continues to hurt, but at least Dalton was able to put some points on the board this week, scoring 18 pts in Green Bay which was better than expected.  The team leader was S Diggs with 30.5 pts with 2 TDs and 173 receiving yards.  Diggs had an off game in week 2, but with his top notch game this week he leads all WRs in the PQBFL after three weeks, a full 3 pts per game ahead of star A Brown (Wax).  On defense, high-priced DB L Collins delivered with 12 pts but his own team defense the Giants only scored 2 pts for Bas.  The Giants have been awful so far and rank next to last team defense in the PQBFL so far.  However Bas was kind of stuck because the other defense they own is the Texans and they were playing in New England so it made sense to bench them, but they outscored the Giants anyway.

The Decepticons finished in the middle of the pack for the second straight week and remain next to last in the standings and in total points scored, but last in strength of starters.  There is not much to get excited about from the 2017 edition of the Cons so far.  The GM threw a lot of shit at the wall at the rookie position, hoping something will stick.  Unfortunately, as of now all the shit is falling on the floor and nothing sticks.  This week J Adams got a sack and scored 7.5 pts, but this is not the kind of game which will bring Dec to glory.  Adams ranks 10th best rookie so far so not starter material.  A Rodgers was the team leader with 24 pts but it was far from easy and it required a last minute comeback and overtime to get it done.  WR M Thomas finally got his first good game of the year with 16.25 pts but he still lags at WR19 so far this year.  On defense, the Ravens had a hot start with 22 pts and 13.5 pts in the first two weeks, but they got destroyed by the Jaguars in London this week and finished with -2.5 pts.

OldNo7 finished 5th this week and is clearly on a downward slope after finishing 1st in week 1 and 3rd in week 2.  They hold on to 2nd place in the standings, but in total points scored they are barely average so second place simply reflects the ability to win close matchups, such as this week: Old ended up less than 6 pts away from finishing last.  Baldwin led the way with a short TD, 10 receptions and over 100 yards.  Rookie D Cook also had his best game of the season with 19 pts.  However much left to be desired elsewhere in the lineup.  Just as we were about to name Kelce the 2017 top TE, he fell flat on his face with only 1 reception for 1 yard.  And what about the Seahawks defense.  They were supposed to be once again one of the best defenses, but this week they did not show up at all in Tennessee: no INT, no forced fumble, no sack, no blocked kick, no nothing, except for allowing 33 pts and over 400 yards of total offense.  At least they did not fumble on special teams laughingatdumbass

FlyingElvis disappointed with 6th place this week.  AJ Green was excellent against the Packers and scored 21.5 pts.  The Jaguars defense was stellar during the early game on Sunday by completely dominating the Ravens and allowed less than 200 yards of total offense.  However the rest of the starting lineup was slim pickings.  Ty Montgomery was barely used because the Packers were playing from behind most of the game and he finished with only 4 pts.  Derek Carr did not show up in Washington like the rest of the Raiders offense and he finished with only 5 pts.  Part of FE's low score this week can also be attributed to the unfortunate timing of K Benjamin's injury after scoring only 2.25 pts.  FE could have used the extra points given that Old finished only 1.75 pts ahead of FE and Dec finished only 6.25 pts ahead of FE.

After an excellent week #2, Wax crashed back to earth with last place.  Wax started the wrong QB again.  Stafford scored 16.25 pts which was not all that bad, but it was below his projection nonetheless.  Benching Roeth appropriate because he was playing on the road.  However R Wilson exploded with 38.25 pts from the bench thanks to lots of garbage time scoring and yardage.  At RB it was a disaster: not only Wax only scored 8 pts from his starters Crowell and CJ Anderson, but most importantly after week 2 we were led to believe that CJ Anderson might be a top RB and that J Charles was not a threat.  However this week Charles played well and got one more carry than Anderson and had a higher yards per carry average.  If this turns into a RB by committee in Denver, CJ Anderson will not remain RB4 of the PQBFL like he is now.  Antonio Brown was his normal self despite Roeth playing subpar in Chicago, and Brown finished as Wax's leader with 20.5 pts.  At TE, Wax paid dearly for the fact that Gronk was banged up and was a risky start.  Wax benched Gronk, and Gronk scored 18.75 pts from the bench while starter Doyle only caught 2 short passes and fumbled away one of them bag
