Week #11

The BeaudoinBrothers won for the fourth time of the year with a stress-free performance, easily distancing Dec in second place.  The win was already secure before MNF even though the Bros still had one RB and one WR left to go on Monday.  This win increased Beaud's lead to 3 rank-points ahead of Dec with six weeks to go.  Despite the Packers' problems, A Rodgers continues to put up points on the board, adding 32.25 pts this week in a blowout loss in Washington.  Rodgers might not be dominant like he used to be, but he is nonetheless the second best QB in the PQBFL behind Brady (Dec).  The LB duo of Kuechly and Shazier was in top shape this week, with 32 pts between them.  However it might be a while before we can see Kuechly again due to his concussion.  The Panthers might not risk his career by bringing him back this season.  The GM hyper-activity with DL trades continued this week, this time acquiring Jerry Hughes from Wax before the deadline, because R Quinn was sick and not sure to start, while Wilkerson was on bye.  The trade was once again not fruitful, with Hughes scoring only one point compared to 5 pts for Quinn who did not miss the game to illness.

The Decepticons did not have a great week, scoring 139.5 pts, but since week #11 was the lowest scoring week of the season, it was good enough for second place.  Brady threw for 4 TDs and 33.25 pts in an easy match-up against the 49ers.  Similar to the Bros, Dec got loads of points from LBs with 31 pts from B Wagner and K Alonso combined.  At WR, both Ju Jones and B Marshall were on bye, so it forced Dec to start the disappointing D Parker (29th best WR in the league).  However Dec struck gold because Parker had his best game of the year in the only week that Dec is possibly going to need Parker.  Parker did most of his damage late in the 4th quarter and finished with 16.75 pts.  The main culprits for the low score by Dec this week were duds from T Eifert (4.75 pts), Marvin Jones (1.75 pts), and Patrick Mahomes (1.75 pts).  Also note that for a while it looked like Dec had caught a break because the first week that J Goff started was the one week that regular rookie starter Deion Jones was on bye.  However Goff did nothing special, scoring only 5 pts which did not have any impact on the standings this week.

After finishing in the red for four straight weeks between weeks 5-8, Wax has avoided the red for now the third straight week, this time finishing 3rd.  This has helped Wax distance Adm and Bas in the standings and now Wax has a more comfortable 5 rank-point lead in 5th place over 6th place Bas.  It was not pretty once again for Wax and the team did not even reach 130 pts, but Wax edged Old to finish in the top half of the standings.  This was achieved despite another abysmal coaching performance, benching R Wilson (25.75 pts) in favor of Stafford (9.25 pts), benching the Vikings D (16.5 pts) in favor of the Chiefs D (2.5 pts), and benching Edelman against an easy defense (17.25 pts), in favor of B Cooks against a tough defense (9.25 pts).  Wax also started the wrong kicker, but even if we ignore that one, Wax would have finished in first place had the coach started the correct QB, Def, and WR.

OldNo7 finished 4th this week and dropped to 12 rank-points behind first place.  Now that they have reached a double-digit deficit, Old has been effectively discarded from the race after a promising start in the first six weeks of the season.  The slowdown of rookie Wentz has been the main reason.  Wentz was averaging 18.5 pts per game early on, but since then has averaged only 8.5 pts per game.  He is still the second best rookie in the PQBFL but no longer dominant.  The other reason has been the hiccups at QB where Newton+BigBen seemed to be an unstoppable duo, and yet both have cooled down considerably in the last few weeks.  Roethlisberger started this week and only scored 7.5 pts and did not have a TD.  ODB was also off his game this week with only 6.25 pts.

The GloriousBastards finished 5th this week, beating Adm to consolidate 6th place in the standings, but losing ground to Wax in 5th place.  After 10 weeks of having shitty production at the rookie position, Bas acquired promising rookie WR Corey Coleman from Beaud.  However the weather conditions were quite awful for the passing game this week and Coleman only caught 4 passes on a whopping 12 targets.  Bas' WRs have been doing quite well recently and this week was no exception.  TY Hilton scored a short TD and had almost 100 receiving yards, while D Baldwin scored double digits for the third straight week, also scoring a TD and exceeding 100 yards.  RB Dion Lewis played for the first time of the season but the Pats eased him in the game with only 5 carries.  Bas started Lewis nonetheless due to a lack of other decent options and Lewis' 4 pts were not good enough to help Bas to the top of the standings.  The Texans defense was not pretty on MNF and the scored a goose egg, although it did not matter because Bas finished far ahead of FE and far behind Old.

After scoring over 200 pts last week and slowly climbing in the standings near the top, FlyingElvis got obliterated this week, barely reaching 100 pts.  It is striking that FE was the most stable team early this season, and recently nobody has had scoring swings as wild as FE.  With Beaud and Dec finishing 1st and 2nd this week, FE's disaster all but removed them from the race.  FE is now 9 rank-points behind first place with two teams to beat so they will probably not drink champagne this year.  After having a rain of TDs in the last four weeks, FE hit a patch of dryness, with only J Nelson finding the end zone, and his stats were not great (only 3 receptions for 28 yards).  Nobody other than Nelson scored a TD except for FE's college RB McNichols who scored 10.75 pts and was the best offensive player for FE this week, second to only LB J Collins (12 pts).  FE was clearly not helped by AJ Green's injury early in the game before he could even catch a pass.

Adm failed to reach 100 pts for the second straight week, and finished last for the second straight week.  Adm could have avoided last place if the coach had not started D Freeman on bye week, leaving three active RBs on the bench who scored enough to beat FE.  The coach also started injured DL Heyward while Ansah scored 8 pts on the bench.  At WR, Dez Bryant did well with 21 pts, but with the Broncos on bye, Adm had to make a move because both D Thomas and E Sanders were not playing and Adm had nobody else to start.  Adm acquired J Mathews from Beaud but he was limited to 7.75 pts this week.  At the rookie position, Adm got a rare good game from anybody on the roster with 12.25 pts from B Miller, but unfortunately he was benched.  Starting rookie D Henry played, but did not even get a carry or reception all game.
