Week #3

WaxOnWaxOff emerged from their early season funk with their first win of the year and moved right out of last place into a quadruple tie in 3rd place.  Wax got a monster game from the Vikings defense who scored 24 pts on the road in Carolina which was quite impressive.  After three weeks the Vikings are for real, leading all defenses of the PQBFL by a very large margin despite playing a top notch offense in two of their three games (GB+CAR).  Wax also got great games out of individual defenders particularly Kwon Alexander scoring a TD and 19 pts, Ogletree reaching double digits and Jerry Hughes almost did.  On MNF, DB Vaccaro surprisingly missed the game and it almost cost Wax the win until Ingram scored a late TD to edge Beaud.

The BeaudoinBrothers bounced back from their week #2 subpar performance with second place.  Aaron Rodgers was the leader with 30.5 pts against the lowly Lions.  First round pick RB David Johnson got the lion share of the carries for the Cards for once, and he scored 21.25 pts.  He is the best RB in the PQBFL so far this year.  The coach can be blamed for not winning this week.  WR Mike Evans was benched for the second straight week and he outscored Jordan Matthews 21.5 pts to 8.75.  Julius Thomas' game of 2.5 pts also did not help with Barnidge scoring 10.25 pts and Jimmy Graham 14 pts on the bench.

OldNo7 had an up and down week but escaped with 3rd place and will hold on to first place in the standings for at least one more week.  Cam Newton was a disaster against the Vikings, scoring only 6.5 pts because of 3 INTs.  Matt Forte (5.25 pts) and Amari Cooper (7 pts) did nothing special which dragged down Old.  However rookie Wentz once again feasted on a below average defense, this time scoring 24.75 pts for Old which saved the day.  Wentz is by far the best rookie after three weeks and even if he was a QB he would be 7th in the PQBFL which is quite good for a rookie.

FlyingElvis finished in the middle of the pack with 4th place.  That result was not too bad considering that all three of FE's tight ends are injured and missed the week which was a handicap.  RB Blount had a surprisingly good game for FE this week scoring 2 TDs and 21.75 pts.  Jordy Nelson was even better with 22 pts but that is the job he is expected to do for FE.  Nelson is clearly recoved from his injury last year which is good news for FE.  In order for FE to finish higher this week, the team would have needed more production from defense.  Apart from Jamie Collins' 19 pts, the Bengals were awful in a loss to the Broncos, Khalil Mack was held to 2 pts, and Sean Lee only scored 5 pts.

The Admirals avoided finishing in the red this week but dropped to last place in the standings anyway.  Drew Brees saved Adm from finishing at the bottom with 25.25 pts on MNF.  He has been one of the few bright spots for Adm so far, leading the entire PQBFL with 25.1 pts per week.  RB Devonta Freeman is losing carries to fellow RB Tevin Coleman (Bas) but there was enough production to go around from the Falcons offense that Freeman scored 23.25 pts this week.  RB Ajayi benefited from A Foster's injury to score a TD in overtime and make up for injuries at the RB position for Adm.  Defense was problematic for Adm with the Cards getting destroyed by the Bills and all individual defenders scoring between 5 and 7 pts.

The Decepticons could not follow up the week #2 win with another good performance and instead they finished 6th for the second time in three weeks.  It could have been worse for Dec if not for the long TD by rookie LB Deion Jones on MNF and his 23.5 pts.  DB Corey Graham finally emerged from his lethargy with a good game and 16 pts.  RB D Murray also did well with 17.75 pts.  However the rest was pretty much shit.  Julio Jones is clearly not himself due to injury and the Falcons were running at will and did not need the pass.  Ju Jones finished the game with only one catch.  DeAngelo Williams failed to have a third straight big game before L Bell comes back from his suspension next week.  Williams only scored 3.5 pts.  To go along with Ju Jones, Brandon Marshall started and was limited to 4.25 pts so Dec only got 6 pts from both WRs combined, while backups D Baldwin and Marvin Jones scored 53.25 pts combined from the bench.

The GloriousBastards had a hot start this year but week #3 was a stark reality with last place.  Everything went wrong for Bas this week.  Kelvin Benjamin was looking like a monster after two weeks but he was shockingly held without a catch against the Vikings and scored the dreaded goose egg.  Rookie Josh Doctson started but was a surprise scratch despite coming back from his injury in week #2.  RB CJ Anderson had an off game with only 3.25 pts and LB Dansby was not much better with 3.5 pts.  The connection Andrew Luck to TY Hilton was the only decent thing for Bas this week with Hilton scoring 24.5 pts but even the 14 pts from Luck was nothing to write home about.
