The
Decepticons ended an 11-year drought by winning their first PQBFL title
since 2004. Congrats to the 'Cons for having the best team in a
hotly contested fight with the BeaudoinBrothers, both ending up with 78
rank points but Dec edging Beaud 2694 to 2669 in total overall points,
a tiny difference of not even a point and a half per week. The
'Cons had to avoid being beat by two or more rank points this week and
did so by having a decent week and finished 3rd. The Texans
defense were the heroes, scoring a season-high 26 pts in their
domination of the Jaguars. Their 26 pts were far more than their
projected score this week of 8 pts and this 18 pt outperformance
relative to projections was the difference because Wax finished 14.75
pts behind Dec this week. Big Ben also pulled his weight with 3
TDs and Dec's WRs who were stellar all year had good stats (9-149 for
Ju Jones and 7-89 for Hopkins) despite not scoring a TD, which was
enough to get the job done this week.
The BeaudoinBrothers failed to beat OldNo7 and finished 2nd.
Beaud had to beat Old on SNF to beat Dec by two spots and they needed
18.5 from A Rodgers at home against the Vikings which is less than
Rodgers' season average. Rodgers was not having the greatest game
but still had a shot until he threw an INT in the end zone with 2 min
left in the game. He also got the ball back with 1 min left and a
last chance for a TD and beat Dec but he could not get the job
done. The Bros therefore failed to repeat as champions but
nonetheless finish in the top 2 of the league for the incredible 12th
consecutive season.
OldNo7 was tied with Wax going into the last week and beat Wax in
decisive fashion to end the year in the first half of the standings in
what was a relatively successful season. OldNo7 won three of the
last 5 weeks which was league's best during that period.
Several of Wax's players underperformed in week #17 and cost Wax a
chance at 3rd place overall. Wax's RBs could only muster a
combined 7.25 pts between D Williams and L Murray. Part of it was
because of the injury to D Williams which is fitting since 2015 was an
injury-filled season for Wax who led the league in injury points and
will therefore have the first pick overall in the 2016 draft.
Adm has been locked in last place for a while but at least ended the
year avoiding last place with a 5th place finish with 110 pts.
Demaryius Thomas was the team leader with 18.75 pts with a long 72 yard
score on the second play of the Broncos' game.
FlyingElvis finished last in week #17 which means FE will draft last in
round #7 of the 2016 draft. The FE coach deserves the turkey of
the year award for starting Sean Lee, Eric Weddle, and Todd Gurley, all
three of them were widely known to not play in the season finale.
If FE had started healthy guys at those three positions, he would have
finished ahead of Adm, Wax, and most importantly, ahead of Dec too,
which would have given the PQBFL championship to the
BeaudoinBrothers. FE will be forever the most hated team in
BeaudoinBrother land.
