Week #14

For the first time this season, the Decepticons are not in 1st place.  After leading the league since week #1, the BeaudoinBrothers stunned the 'Cons with the B-Brothers' 4th win combined with Dec's last place finish.  The BeaudoinBrothers did not have a dominant week - they simply got consistency across the entire lineup with no player underperforming significantly.  A Rodgers got 2 TDs and no turnover, J-Stew scored a TD, McFadden rushed for over 100 yards, ODB and Marshall scored over 20 pts, Gronk returned to health and scored a TD, and Winston had one TD and no turnover.  The BeaudoinBrothers now lead Dec by 2 rank points and will most likely win the PQBFL title if they can beat Dec for two of the last three weeks of the season.

WaxOnWaxOff had their highest scoring week since week #7 and finished 2nd.  However because Old did not have a bad week, Wax only cut Old's lead to 2 rank points for 3rd place of the standings.  On MNF, Eli Manning and J Landry scored 31 pts and 15.75 pts to give a brief scare to the BeaudoinBrothers, but fell short.  On defense, the Panthers' shutout win against the Falcons with 5 sacks and 4 turnovers earned 20.5 pts.  Muhammad Wilkerson sacked Mariota three times and also forced a fumble for a total of 21.5 pts.  Wilkerson has been a nice surprise this year for Wax, ranking 2nd best DL only behind JJ Watt (Beaud).

OldNo7 finished in the first half of the standings for the 4th time in 5 weeks and kept third place in the standings overall.  Cam Newton had it too easy against the Falcons and was rested after scoring 30 pts.  The other skill position players were decent but not great, with D Martin, Forte, R Cobb, and A Brown all scoring in a narrow range of 9.25 pts to 13 pts.  On defense the Seahawks limited the Ravens to 6 pts and scored 13 pts.  Old was held back by Kelce who did not top 20 yards receiving but Old finished quite far behind Wax this week that it did not affect the rankings.

The Admirals got out of the red for the first time since week #8 and slightly edged FE in 4th place.  Up until this week, rookie Agholor had been a complete waste this year, scoring only 21.75 pts in the first 13 weeks combined, although at least he earned Adm some injury points by missing 3 games.  However week #14 was by far his best due to a long 53-yard TD reception and a total of 14 pts in the game, almost two thirds of what he had scored all year.  Brees threw for 300+ yds, 2 TDs, and no turnover and was the team leader with 20.25 pts.  One weakness this week was the TE position where injuries have been taking their toll with the top 2 TEs J Graham and M Bennett both out for the year and backup Ebron being quite shitty.

FlyingElvis had temporarily regained some life in weeks #12-13 but got beat handily by Wax and Old this week which means FE is now 6 rank-points behind 3rd place and 4 rank-points behind 4 place in the standings without much time to catch up.  Brady had a below-average game by his standards with 18.25 pts.  Blount got injured and is now out for the year after scoring 4.25 pts.  Calvin Johnson only caught 1 pass compared to 9 for Golden Tate (!) which was a disturbing Lions' game for FE.  On MNF, FE only needed a paltry 1.25 pt by the Dolphins defense to beat Adm but the losers scored negative one point.

The Decepticons stunningly crashed to last place as the entire roster failed to score a single TD except for a garbage time trick play by Mariota.  It was crap all over Dec's lineup, including turnovers by Roethlisberger, D Freeman, Mariota, and a fumble (not lost) by Ju Jones.  Even the coach fucked up, starting the Texans D against the Patriots instead of the Jets D against the Titans.  What was he thinking?  The Decepticons had an amazing run of not finishing in the red (last or next to last) for 51 consecutive weeks.  We have to go back to 2012 week #13 when Dec finished 6th out of 7 teams so more than 3 years.  And the last time Dec finished last was 2012 week #7, which ends Dec's streak to 57 consecutive weeks without finishing last.  That tops Wax's streak which ended in week #2 this season at 54 straight weeks.  The BeaudoinBrothers' record still holds at 64 straight weeks.  The 'Cons now have some work to do to capture the PQBFL title and cannot afford another let down week.
