Week #12

The BeaudoinBrothers won week #12 and made the race at the top of the standings as close as it's been since week #2.  The Bros are now only one rank-point behind Dec although they will most likely not have the tie-breaker.  The BeaudoinBrothers served the Decepticons' own medicine by winning with receivers and a TD on defense.  Beckham Jr, B Marshall, and Gronk scored 4 TDs combined and caught 24 passes.  On defense, Kuechly picked off two passes and returned one for a TD.  JJ Watt did not score but he was all over Brees' face with 2 sacks and 7 QB hits.

FlyingElvis recovered from a difficult weeks #10-11 with second place this week and kept hopes alive of finishing 3rd in the standings by closing the gap with Wax and Old.  Calvin Johnson had his best game of the year by far and led FE with 29.5 pts.  He only ranks 12th best WR in the PQBFL and has generally been a disappointment this year because if we count franchise WRs, he was taken 6th WR.  Brady did well against the tough Broncos defense with 29.25 pts but his receivers are falling like flies and the outlook is gloomy for the final stretch unless guys can come back to health.

WaxOnWaxOff finished 3rd with an adequate 151.5 pts on the back of a dominant game by the Panthers defense in Dallas where they scored 2 TDs on Thanksgiving.  Jarvis Landry also had a big game with 13-165-1 and climbed in the top 10 WRs in the league and since he has not missed a game to injury, he ranks 6th best WR in total points if we ignore points per game.  Injuries continue to bog down Wax particularly on defense with 4 of the 6 LBs and DBs out and requiring Wax to start a DL at the defensive flex position.  A Donald only scored 3 pts in that role.

The Decepticons have been in first place since week #1 but are now dangerously close to losing the top spot after finishing in 4th place for the 4th time in 6 weeks.  However this week injuries were not as much to blame as before since the only notable absence was D Freeman with Gore doing nothing in his replacement.  The problem this week was superstar WRs Ju Jones and D Hopkins who carried Dec all year both failed to score a TD and did not even reach 100 yards together.  On defense, B Wagner and D Jackson both had good games with 16.5 pts but no defensive TD came to save the day.  The team best score was from rookie Mariota with 21.75 pts but that was not enough for Dec to reach the first half of the standings.

The Admirals finished far behind Dec with only 111 pts and with FE's performance this week, the team is all but assured from finishing the season dead last.  Brees got his ass kicked all game and did not score a TD for the first time in ages.  Adm's RBs did well (Lacy 15.5 pts and McCoy 11.25 pts) but receivers were dreadful (D Thomas only one reception, Dez Bryant 2-26).  To add insult to injury, Jimmy Graham got hurt and he is now out for the year.

OldNo7 failed to score 100 pts for the first time all year and finished last.  First off, the coach started LB Collins who has been out for weeks and Mathieu scored 19.5 pts on the bench.  RB Lamar Miller rushed for a whopping 2 yards, the Seahawks defense was torched by the Steelers, but that production came from everybody but Old's top WR Antonio Brown who did not score and was limited to 51 receiving yards.
