The
Decepticons slightly edged the BeaudoinBrothers in a very important
close week between the two teams and increased their lead in the
standings to 4 rank-points. It was not pretty for Dec but
receivers got the job done again with 25.75 pts from D Hopkins, 17 pts
from Ju Jones, and 15 pts from T Eifert. Rivers was not able to
properly replace Big Ben for the first time of the year with only 3.25
pts and RBs only combined for 8 pts. However the college position
was more important than normal this week particularly compared to Beaud
and Dak Prescott delivered big time for Dec with 7 TDs, over 500
passing yards, and almost 50 rushing yards.
The BeaudoinBrothers were the favorites to beat Dec going into MNF but
Gronk choked and chose this week to have his worst game of the year
with only 4.75 pts. His timing was awful because in other weeks,
the Bros were not so close to Dec. College star Boykin missed the
week due to injury, also the most untimely injury at usually a lesser
important position, particularly given that backup Knighten was on
bye. Note also the loser stupid kicker Hauschka who missed 2
extra points - the first time all year that he misses one, let alone
two. And it had to happen in week #11.
OldNo7 beat Wax by only 1.75 pts to take sole posession of 3rd place in
the standings. In an otherwise low scoring week, Cam Newton made
the difference with 35.25 pts. RB Doug Martin was not bad either
even though he did not score. He rushed for a stunning 235 yards
which is quite an accomplishment to rack up so many yards without
reaching the end zone. Old was slowed down this week by Antonio
Brown being on bye week and Garcon not doing much in replacement.
WaxOnWaxOff finished in the bottom half of the standings for the 7th
time in 11 weeks. This week was rough because 4 of the 6 WRs on
Wax's roster were on bye or injured. Jarvis Landry started but
was subpar with only 7.25 pts and Jordan Matthews is not startable in
normal circumstances and only caught 4 receptions for 13 yards.
The only two bright spots for Wax were on defense. The Panthers
were dominant again and scored 17.5 pts thanks to 5 turnovers against
the Redskins. LB L David scored a TD and picked off 2
passes. He moved up to 2nd best LB in the PQBFL if we exclude
Ogletree who has a good average but has missed most of the year to
injury.
The Admirals finished close to the bottom again with 5th place.
The week was not entirely bad for Adm with decent games by Bridgewater
(21.25 pts), L McCoy (17.25 pts), and both WRs scoring a TD (D Thomas
and D Bryant). However the Broncos defense, which is one of the
only bright spots for Adm, was not as dominant as expected against the
Bears and almost lost the game. They finished with 7.5 pts which
is well below their league-leading 12.9 pts average, far ahead of the
2nd best defense (Seahawks - Old, 9.6 pts).
FlyingElvis was in the race for 3rd place as early as two weeks ago,
but week #10 was bad, and week #11 even worse. FE scored a
season-low 104 pts. Brady did not do much on MNF with 13 pts but
more scoring would not have been enough to make it a good week for FE
anyway. M Lynch started by the coach but he was injured.
Blount scored 5 pts on the bench so it did not make a big
difference. None of FE's three receivers scored or were able to
reach 100 yards (C Johnson, AJ Green, Ertz). Defense was a bit
better than offense with three guys scoring double digits (Griffen,
Worrilow, and Ha Ha) but that was not enough to overcome general
shittyness on offense.
