WaxOnWaxOff's
up and down season continues. After two straight last place
finishes, Wax bounced back big time with the team's 3rd first place
finish, something that no other team has achieved this season besides
Dec. Wax did not exactly light up the scoreboard but week #10 was
relatively low scoring and 155 pts was enough to take the top
spot. A Luck was on bye but E Manning has been a fine replacement
and scored 22.75 pts this week. He is ahead of Luck so far this
season also, ranked 7th best QB out of 19, while Luck is 8th
best. WR Cooks scored twice in a losing effort by the Saints for
a total of 23.25 pts. While Cooks has not exceeded expectations
this season, he has been adequate, ranking 14th of 32 WRs. The
win by Wax this week makes Wax leap over FE in the standings and tied
with Old at 33 rank-points in 3rd place.
Old finished 2nd this week which is the team's highest finish because
Old has not won a single week yet. Antonio Brown benefited from
Big Ben's return and scored 31.75 pts. With the Steelers' QB
return to health, things are looking up for Brown for the rest of the
season. At QB, C Newton continues to get the job done despite
limited WR weapons. He scored again on the ground and ended up
with 18.75 pts this week. On defense, individual players had a
good week, all scoring between 9.5 pts and 14 pts for Suh, Timmons,
Kirksey, and Bucannon. However the Saints team defense started
this week for Old instead of the Seahawks. Who cares that the
Hawks were playing against the Cards? The Saints are shitty
beyond belief regardless who they are playing, and the defensive
coordinator has now been fired. The Saints gave up 40 pts to the
lowly Redskins and it was the 4th time in 10 weeks the Saints scored
negative points. They rank dead last defensive team in the PQBFL
with only 1.7 pt per game, not even close to next to last Ravens (FE)
with 4.1 pts per game. If Old had started the Seahawks this week,
Old would have beat Wax.
The BeaudoinBrothers beat Dec but only by one rank which is a missed
opportunity given key players for Dec were on bye (Rivers, D Freeman,
Ju Jones). Dec had a subpar week but Beaud failed to cut
seriously into Dec's lead because of several players having off
weeks. College QB Boykin was the top scoring college player this
season prior to this week but got injured during the game and finished
week #10 with only 0.25 pts. Jeffery was listed as questionable
and played despite injury but could not do better than 4 pts.
Forsett was expecting bigger things against the Jaguars defense at
home, but the coach decided to throw the ball all day and limited
Forsett to 14 carries. Note that Forsett was also not able to do
much with those 14 carries, averaging less than 4 yards per
carry. It has been a disappointing season for Forsett who ranks
20th RB out of 36. The week had started well for the Bros, with
the Bills defense dominating the Jets and scoring a season-high 16
pts.
The Decepticons finished in 4th place for the 3rd time in the last 4
weeks, but as mentioned above this was explained by several bye weeks
so the Dec coach was relieved to only give up one rank-point to
Beaud. The door is now wide open for the last stretch of the
season for Dec to win the league title with Big Ben and Mariota coming
back to health and bye weeks behind. Flacco was adequate at QB in
replacement for Rivers (bye) and Roeth (semi-injured) with 21.75
pts. Dec found a way to score yet again another TD on defense
with Wagner returning a fumble 22 yards for a TD. DB
league-leading Reshad Jones had another great game with 18 pts.
His lead over the second best DB (Mathieu - Old) is one of the largest
of any position. Also college QB Goff had 6 TDs and over 450
passing yards for 11.75 pts. This masked the goose egg by RB
Crowell who did not get the job done during D Freeman's bye week.
FE stumbled to 5th place this week and barely edged Adm to fall back to
5th place overall in the standings. Brady almost lost the game at
NYG with an untimely INT but scored more than half of his points one a
single play to Gronk (76-yard TD pass) and finished the game with a
season-low 17.75 pts. Not too bad for a season-low since half the
QBs in the PQBFL are not even averaging this score but that affected FE
this week nonetheless. Adrian Peterson was the team leader this
week with 26 pts, scoring a long TD and rushing for over 200
yards. The FE coach fucked up by starting Bowman on bye week,
leaving Griffen (8 pts) and Ha Ha (16 pts) on the bench for defensive
flex. Any of those guys starting would have beat Dec, who once
again benefits from another coach screwing up, and bounces keep going
Dec's way.
Adm finished last for the 5th time in 10 weeks but deserved a better
outcome, finishing only 7 pts behind 4th place Dec. QB Brees did
not bail Adm this time, after being limited to 13.75 pts against the
Skins in what could have been a shootout. The Broncos defense had
a rare bad game with only 1 pt, far below their league-leading 13.4 pt
per week average. The injury to college QB Connor Cook did not
help - Cook left the game early with a score of zero. Adm's top
scorer this week was Kam Chancellor who had a busy game with 7 tackles
and 12 assists against the Cards.
