Week #3

If the Decepticons get a goose egg from Eifert and Big Ben is knocked out of the game before throwing a TD and the team still scores 180 pts, it is safe to say that they are the team to beat.  The Cons scored an eye popping 11 TDs excluding the QB - it seems everybody was scoring at will this week, including LB Mosley who scored a long one on defense.  Jamaal Charles capped the week with a 3 TD effort against the Packers on MNF.  Julio Jones continued his dominance so far this season with two more TDs and 12 receptions.  His lead at the top of the WR rankings so far is the greatest of all positions, 5.7 pts per game more than Antonio Brown (Old).  The second largest lead is also from a member of the Decepticons: Mariota tops Winston (Beaud) by 5.6 pts per game.

WaxOnWaxOff got out of their funk with 174 pts and second place this week.  While coaching efficiency definitely improved this week, it still remains no better than middle of the road.  Keenan Allen was benched this week and he scored 31.5 pts, about 20 more than both starters J Landry (13.25 pts) and E Sanders (10.25 pts).  Wax welcomed the return of LeVeon Bell from his suspension and he made a difference with 17 pts.  TE Greg Olsen was one of the responsible players for Wax's slow start.  He only scored 12 pts combined for the first two weeks, but he exploded with 8-134 and 2 TDs this week.

The BeaudoinBrothers were heading towards a very mediocre week through Sunday with only three TDs until Aaron Rodgers came in MNF and changed course for the team with 5 TDs.  The situation at RB for Beaud is putrid beyond belief: 11.25 pts from the starters in week #1, 8.5 pts in week #2, and a new low was reached this week with 6.5 pts.  It's not like the RBs are fumbling - they just cannot move the ball.  Forsett had 10 rushes for 13 yards this week.  Other than Rodgers' 39.25 pt day effort, there was not much for Beaud to write home about.  Posluzny had a busy day on defense with 18 pts but everybody else on defense was held to single digits.

FlyingElvis was hoping for better than 4th place with 162.5 pts but was stunned by A Rodgers on MNF.  However it was enough to beat OldNo7 this week so FE takes over 3rd place in the standings in front of Old.  AJ Green was FE's leader this week with 10-227 and 2 TDs against a porous Ravens defense.  Adrian Peterson had his first strong game of the year, scoring 2 TDs and rushing for more than 100 yards.  Brady could have had a bigger day against the Jaguars but the Patriots scored a lot on the ground so Brady was "limited" to 23 pts.  FE was held back this week by the injury to Marshawn Lynch who exited the game after only 1.75 pt.  The Dolphins defense also did not help.  They got crushed by the Bills, allowed 34 pts, more than 400 yards, no sack and no turnover.  Ouch.

OldNo7 had their highest score of the year with 151 pts but worst ranking of the year with 5th place, which left the coach scratching his head.  Old's receivers were excellent this week: R Cobb scored 3 TDs, A Brown did not score but caught 11 passes for 100+ yards, and Kelce 6-80 and a 2-pt conversion.  The RB position was more problematic.  Forte is in the middle of a shitty offense this year and he uncharacteristically did not catch a pass, which normally adds to his yardage on the ground.  CJ Anderson is simply not the same player as last year.  He scored 2.25 pts this week and so far this year he is 30th of 34 RBs.  His 2.8 pt average is barely above a backup (Knile Davis 2.7 pts), two guys who missed time to injury (CJ Spiller and R Bush), and A Foster who has not played yet.

The Admirals' season is unraveling fast.  Adm got their lowest score of the year with barely 100 pts in an otherwise high scoring week.  The team has many injuries at key position hurting the team, and backups are not good enough to compete.  Brees, Ivory, Ellington, and Dez Bryant all missed the game.  L McCoy played injured and is not contributing.  Demaryius Thomas is healthy and scored 18.5 pts but he continues to be a bit affected by a soon to crumble Peyton Manning.  One of the few good news for Adm is that Mike Evans is back to health and scored a respectable 13 pts.  Jimmy Graham also had his first good week of the year after being ignored in week #2.  This week he was more involved in the offense with 7-83-1.  The Admirals benched their top scorer of the week the Arizona Cardinals with 32.5 pts.  The Broncos defense started instead.  They were not bad at all with 14 pts, but was a coaching miscue nonetheless.  Adm finished so far behind Old in the standings this week that it did not make a difference.
