WaxOnWaxOff bounced back from a disastrous 8th place last week to get back close to first place with their second win in 5 weeks.  Wax is only 1 rank point behind Dug and JB with 4 weeks left.  Wax easily beat JB who finished 2nd with more than 20 pts in front.  Wax got strong contribution throughout the lineup this week, but R Wayne was the main key with 31 pts in the shootout vs Dallas.  This was Wayne’s best game of the year, his previous high was 21.75 which is not that great some someone who is supposed to be top 5 in the league particularly with so many injuries at the receiver position for the Colts.  At RB note that A Bradshaw was demoted to backup behind B Jacobs due to his fumbles.  There was no ill effect this week as both RBs rushed for 100 yards plus 2 TDs against the Skins.

JakesBlues made a strong push to the top of the standings with the Dugongs’ struggles and is now tied in first place with 81 rank points.  Dug however holds the tiebreaker over JB.  After finishing second for the 4th time in 5 weeks, JB has been the best team during this period by far: 38 rank points vs Wax 31 rank points.  JB now has a clear shot at the league title, which is quite a comeback from last year’s 7th place.  JB did all damage this week with Brees (20.25 pts), A Foster (25 pts), G Jennings (25 pts), and the Giants defense (18.5 pts).  A Foster is by far JB’s MVP this season, averaging 18.6 pts per game compared to the second best RB in the league A Peterson (Dug) with 15.8 pts.  This is the largest domination of all positions so far.  Sam Bradford also leads the league at his position but he had an off game this week, scoring only 3.5 pts.  He will be key to JB’s success for the last stretch run.

UncleJack finished in the top 3 for only the second time this year.  This was quite unexpected especially with franchise player P Manning throwing 4 INTs and star WR R White not scoring a TD.  B Jacobs benefited from being the Giants’ starting RB again and scored 20.5 pts.  On defense, Urlacher had a big game with 9 tackles, 8 assists, and half a sack.  C Benson scored 2 short TDs in another loss vs the Saints.

The BeaudoinBrothers finished near the middle for the 9th straight week (3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th place).  This won’t lead the team anywhere but the middle of the standings.  The BBs were very lucky to come out on top of a close pack: only 4 pts separated 4th place BB and 7th place Dug.  In a week where points were at a premium, A Rodgers’ spanking of the miserable 49ers came in handy.  Rodgers scored 34 pts and took the league as the top scorer of the PQBFL.  He’s been the only good draft pick the GM made this year in the first 20 rounds.  The rest have all underperformed.

The Spitoons finished only one point behind Beaud but half a point ahead of Dec.  Welker saved the team from a bad week with 17 pts on MNF.  He has clearly benefited from R Moss’ departure.  On defense, the Steelers got a hard-earned 11 pts on the road in Baltimore, holding the Ravens to 10 pts and causing one turnover.  The Steelers remain the top defense in the PQBFL.  Spi also owns another leader at his position: Ju Tuck at DL.  He scored 13 pts this week.  Note that the league’s second best DL is also from the Giants (Osi U from Dug).  Quite a duo.

The Decepticons painfully have to accepted no better than 6th place this week.  The team should have easily finished 4th but DB P Chung has been falling from grace recently.  He was leading all DBs through 6 weeks with an average of 14.6 pts per game.  Since then however, he’s only averaging 6.6 pts per game, and only three DBs in the league are lower than this threshold.  The main reason is that this loser is not even on the field anymore for a lot of 1st downs and 2nd downs.  He’s in Belichick’s dog house.  The ‘Cons would be better suited starting 2 LBs instead of starting both Chung and Harper.  A DB playing only part-time cannot be expected to do much.  Anyway, Chung’s meager 2 pts this week sunk the Decepticons.  Interestingly, Dec scored as many TDs on defense this week than offense (Cassel 1, M Williams 1, Dallas 2).  Thank god for those two defensive TDs because otherwise the Cowboys defense was dreadful again: 35 pts and 400+ yards.

The Dugongs surprisingly had another off week with 7th place.  This is the second time in 3 weeks it happens and Dug now had to deal with 2 teams in the rearview mirror rather than just one.  It will make for an exciting season finish.  Dug deserved better this week however, as standings were tight but came out on the wrong side of the pack.  Most of Dug’s production came at RB.  A Peterson (3 TDs) and L McCoy (2 TDs) picked up the slack from the shocking goose eggs offered up by K Orton (0.75 pt) and D Bowe (no reception!).  Those two guys were massive surprises this year and fell flat this week.  C Johnson and V Davis each added a TD.  How often do you score 7 TDs and finish in the bottom 3 in a week where league scoring was not even more than season average?  The Dugongs are left shaking their head about how that happened.  Part of it is college QB Collaros having his worst game of the year and rookie Matthews missing the game due to injury.

OldNo7 finished 8th and with UJ’s strong game, Old’s lead over bottom feeder UJ shrunk to 5 rank points.  In the last 4 weeks, Old has been the
shittiest team in the league with only 7 rank points compared to UJ’s 16.  Only 4 weeks ago, Old was hoping to catch up with the top of the standings, being 10 rank points behind 3rd place JB.  Things have turned in a hurry.  Receivers are to blame this week, both WRs and the TE caught only 3 passes each, lack luster yardage, and no TD.

Welcome back to last place FE.  Elvis had an absolutely disgusting week until Brady brought some respectability with 34 pts on MNF.  Prior to that, offense was non-existent.  Both RBs, WRs, the TE, kicker, rookie WR, and college RB (8 players) combined for 0 TD, less than 300 yards from scrimmage, and the 4 receivers only had 6 receptions.  Wow.  The Falcons did more scoring than all those players with a TD!  This counter-performance means Spi caught FE in the standings and both are tied in 6th place.  Spi holds the tie-breaker however.
