Dugongs 188.25 pts

WaxOnWaxOff 148.75 pts

JakesBlues 134.75 pts

FlyingElvis 127 pts

Spitoons 122.25 pts

OldNo7 120 pts

Decepticons 108.5 pts

UncleJack 107.25 pts

BeaudoinBrothers 107.25 pts

The Dugongs exploded out of last place in the standings after 3 weeks to a crushing week 4 win, scoring almost 40 pts over second place Wax.  This moves Dug to 5th place in the standings, second highest scoring team in the league, and first in strength of starters by far.  The Dugongs have been forgotten early on, but could spell trouble for other teams.  The Dugongs’ receivers did well this week, particularly Gates with 2 TDs.  The Dugongs were also solid on defense, with 20 pts for Umenyiora and 18 pts for C Lofton.

WaxOnWaxOff took back first place in the standings with a second place, quickly rebounding from the disappointing week 3.  Romo’s absence was not missed with 14 pts from Henne on MNF.  This performance was not necessary anyway since Wax beat JB by a good margin.  MJD finally woke up with his first double-digit game of the season.  The Colts’ receivers were productive in that same Jacksonville game, R Wayne catching 15 passes and D Clark scoring another TD.

JB is the only team that avoided 7th, 8th, or 9th places this year and this consistency has kept JB near the top.  This week, JB did not have a big score and had several starters struggling badly, but big games from Bradford (20 pts), A Foster (29.5 pts), and the Giants defense (10 sacks!).  Those games masked some duds at WR and TE, the three starters combining for only 4 receptions for 55 yards.

FlyingElvis finished a respectable 4th, but could have been better with a greater effort from Brady who only had 1 TD and 153 passing yards on MNF.  Mendenhall was the top offensive scorer with 17.25 pts, while Mayo did the job with 17.5 pts on defense.  FE was hurt by the bye week of Dez Bryant at the rookie position and backup Gronkowski only scoring one point.  FE also needs M Turner to produce more.  Turner currently ranks 18th best RB in the league.

The Spitoons finished in the middle of the pack this week, following last week’s sub-100 pt debacle.  This allowed Spi to move up to third place in the standings in front of Beaud, but fell further away from the leaders.  Spi did not have a good week by most standards with only 122.25 pts but benefited from even worse by other teams.  Schaub did not reach 200 passing yards, but his two TDs were enough to beat Old.  Spi’s top scorer was J Tuck with 21 pts.  The rest of Spi’s lineup was not impressive, particularly at RB.  Except for a couple of long TDs by Forte on receptions earlier this year, Spi’s squad is very miserable for anybody hoping to hang around the top of the standings.  It is only a matter of time before Spi drops in the second half of the standings.  Forte only rushed for 26 yds this week.  S Greene had a better day with 9.75 pts, but he’s now clearly the backup being Tomlinson.  All other Spi RBs are backups as well, like Ricky Williams, Chester Taylor (he’s still in the NFL), Sproles, and Julius Jones who was a healthy scratch again.

OldNo7 was geared for a top 3 finish this week until MNF came around.  Randy Moss got the big goose egg in a 41-pt performance by the Patriots.  What?  Rookie Brandon Spikes did better in that game, but only by default, registering a single tackle and nothing else.  If Old had finished 3rd this week, the team would be 5th in the standings.  Instead Old is the new doormat of the league.  Ryan Grant’s injury is killing Old.  Replacement Brandon Jackson sucks (2.75 pts this week against the Lions), and three backups combined for 5.75 pts plus Felix Jones on bye.  To go along with R
Moss’s goose egg, star whiner Crabtree scored a season-high 7.75 pts.  You the man, loser!

The Decepticons were going to finish dead last this week until DB Chung saved the day with a late INT and TD on MNF, earning two precious rank-points on this play.  Chung has scored the most points in the league so far on the defensive side of the ball.  Timmons is the co-leader of the PQBFL on defense, and he helped Dec with 17 pts this week.  Offense was nowhere to be found for Dec however, with Cutler getting his ass kicked all day until his head got kicked too.  He finished with -6.75 pts.  RB Ronnie Brown disappointed again with 4.5 pts.  With Andre Johnson injured and Miles Austin injured, Dec was lucky to get a TD out of K Britt, but no such luck with Mike Wallace.

UncleJack and the BeaudoinBrothers tied for the second week in a row.  This is no mistake!  P Manning was adequate with 18.5 pts for UJ and Keller added another TD this week.  He surprisingly ranks as 3rd best TE in the league.  However UJ had an off week due to H Ward (2.5 pts), Benson (5 pts), and nobody on defense reaching double-digits.  And of course the college position where some dude from Ball State starts every week for UJ, but this no-name is not even the starting RB on his own team.  Nice!

The BeaudoinBrothers also crashed from first to last along with UJ.  A Rodgers scored over 20 pts, but 2 INTs cost Beaud.  Chris Johnson has not played up to franchise player status, scoring 2.25 pts for the second time this year.  This time he did not have the excuse of playing a top defense.  Chris Wells only got 5 carries for the Cards.  Is the coach thinking that Hightower is the better RB?  Or maybe 4th string QB Max Hall can lead the team to victory?  What a knuckle head.  The BeaudoinBrothers’ coach is also a knucklehead, starting the Bengals defense (2 pts) instead of the Chargers defense (26.5 pts).  This was the worst coaching efficiency in the league this week.
