Weekly Summary Provided by Dec
FE continued their late season
surge with their third win in the last six weeks, and fifth top 3 in the last
seven weeks. This hot streak has allowed FE to jump past Decepticons in the
standings and create a wild rush for 2nd through 4th place going into week 17.
Just 2.5 points separate 2nd from 4th, so this will be a very exciting week for
the Beaudoin Bros, Wax, and FE, who all also have a small chance to walk away
from week 17 the overall champion. In week 16 FE crushed the competition by
over 50 points with the only real major starting
mistake being M Barber (0.5 pts) over McGahee (18.75 pts).
Wax came out second place for the week and third place overall. Wax has also
had a late season surge after a middle of the season that almost put the team
out of the race. But a 2nd, 1st, 2nd in weeks 14-16 have them right in the
thick of things. Philip Rivers' big game to give the Chargers a chance to get
into the playoffs has also given Wax a chance with four touchdowns and 33.25
points . Other than Rivers there was not
much production, but at least no stinkers for Wax to help them to the second
place this week.
BeaudoinBrothers took 3rd place to stay within reach of Spitoons for 1st place
overall with the end of the season looming. LT finally looks healthy and is
playing good but unfortunately for BBs did not score any TDs as Rivers' from Wax
threw all of them. But with LT coming around, BBs will have a looming franchise
decision in the offseason. LT, who has been
a BB staple for years, Portis who had a great and consistent year but also had a
lot of carries or Turner, LT's former protege who had a much better 2008 season
3rd best RB after 15 games.
Spitoons came in 4th this week to almost finish out their incredibly consistent
season but with the late surges by FE, Wax and
BB they have not clinched the PQBFL championship yet. Finishing out the
consistent season was a consistent performance by Spit's team with no great
performance but no horrible performances this week.
The remainder of the teams are out of the front race and sufficiently spread out
that there's not much excitement going into week 17. So this writer is going to
skip them and go play with all his nieces and nephews! Merry Christmas!
Note: sometimes the NFL announces stats changes and according to PQBFL rules, the results are not totally official until Sunday 1pm Eastern.
