2007 Week #14
1st Place BeaudoinBrothers 187 pts
3rd Place WaxOnWaxOff 134,25 pts
4th Place Decepticons 132.25 pts
Weekly Summary Provided by the Decepticons
With three weeks to go in the
2007 PQBFL season, there are essentially three mini-races and two teams not in
any race at all. The Beaudoin Brothers have first place essentially locked up.
Second place is a race between Dugongs and FlyingElvis, although the Dugongs may
end up closer to the BB's than FE by seasons end. The big race (i.e. in or out
of the money) for fourth place is between Decepticons and OldNo7, and the race
for sixth place is between Wax and UJ. Spitoons has last place pretty much
locked up.
The Beaudoin Brothers had a good week with LT leading the way with 173 total
yards and 2 TDs for 25.75 points. The BBs had good production all around with
the kicker Gostkowski and LB DeMeco Ryans being the only starters without double
digits. The BBs first place finish this week was in question until the kicker
Gostkowski made a tackle on a kickoff return in 3rd quarter of the NE vs PIT
game. Yeah, the BBs even get tackles from their kicker making tackles, that's
how dominating they are this year.
The Dugongs scored a 2nd place finish in week 14 to remain the hottest team in
the PQBFL . Over the past four weeks the
Dugongs have scored 29 rank points, 3 more than the BBs (26 rank points) and far
ahead of the Decepticons (19 rank points) who have the third most. The Dugongs
came out on top over a very packed field 2nd through 6th place this week with
only 10.75 points separating 2nd and 6th place. Adrian Peterson had an off day
with only 3 yards rushing on 14 carries for 1.25 points and the Cowboys defense
gave up a big 27 points and 390 yards to the Lions for -1.5 points. However
Chester Taylor picked up the pieces for both the Vikings and the Dugongs while
Randy Moss and Matt Hasselbeck turned in big days with 27.75 and 31.25 points,
respectively.
WaxOnWaxOff came out of the shuffle in 3rd place to take the a 2-point rank lead
over UncleJack for 6th place. Even though Wax is only battling for 6th place
overall, the team deserves a lot of credit considering how injuries have ravaged
the team this year. Even with 0
points from the QB position and almost half the team inactive due to injury Wax
still managed a 3rd place with big points from the WR position (B Marshall and L
Evans with 27.25 and 18.75, respectively), the Vikings defense beating up on the
somewhat surprisingly piss poor 49ers with 23 points and decent production from
most other starters.
The Decepticons were the only team with any starters in the MNF Saints vs
Falcons game and were able to take advantage with Brees connecting with Colston
for 9 receptions and two touchdowns. Besides Brees and Colston with 28.75 and
24.5 points, Andre Johnson turned in another huge performance with 18 points.
Other than that, the Decepticons sucked and the coach left some points on the
board starting the two worst (excluding asshole Tatum Bell
) running backs on the team. With the big
performances from Brees, Colston, and A Johnson Decepticons were able to take a
1-point rank lead over Old for 4th place with three weeks remaining. The race
for 4th place looks to be the most exciting of the mini-races mentioned
previously going into the stretch run.
UncleJack ended up only 0.25 points behind Decepticons in the 2nd through 6th
place clusterfuck this week . UJ also left
some valuable points on the board, sitting DL Kerney after a disappointing week
13. Kerney made up for his week 13 performance, however it was on the bench and
his 21 points were wasted. Jamal Lewis, proving to be a great pickup for UJ
after the trade with Decepticons last offseason surprising everyone as the 5th
leading scoring RB in PQBFL this year , did not
disappoint with 23.25 points and Peyton Manning made a fool of J Lewis' old team
throwing four long touchdowns against the Ravens in less than three quarters of
work. P Manning and the Colts have quietly looked very impressive over the past
few weeks, many would say they have looked even more impressive than the media
darling Patriots.
Speaking of the Patriots, FE is banned from the weekly summary this week for
their ridiculous diatribe after this weeks' game.
The Spitoons, last year's champ, as usual stunk up the joint with a 7th place in
week 14. This is the 8th time this season Spit has either placed 7th or 8th; at
least Spit didn't start anyone injured this week as has been a problem with the
coach this year . B Westbrook (the best RB in
the league, it's too bad the Eagles have such a shitty coach and QB) had a
sub-par day with 15.75 points. L Fitz had a good day with a TD and 17.75 points
overall. Incredibly, even with the 7th place finish the Spitoons finished with
the highest coaching efficiency (93.7%) in week 14.
On the other hand, Old had a terrible coaching efficiency of 58.7%, although the
main reasons for this are only two players who the coach cannot really be blamed
for not starting. Favre outscored C Palmer (who was facing the shitty Rams) by
21.75 points on the bench while rookie Anthony Gonzalez exploded for 2 TDs and
28.5 points on the bench while Dwayne Bowe had just 2 receptions for 3.75
points. Of the starters, MBIII partied like it was last season with 3
touchdowns and Sean Jones (who the hell is Sean Jones) racked up the defensive
stats with 8 tackles/assists, 1 INT, half a sack, and a quarterback hit for 15.5
points. It was not enough for Old though, as the last place finish this week
means they are 1 rank-point behind Decepticons for 4th place.
Note: sometimes the NFL announces stats changes and according to PQBFL rules, the results are not totally official until Sunday 1pm Eastern.
