Weekly Summary Provided by FlyingElvis

The Beaudoin Bros won another week in the league to further distance themselves from the rest of the league . Their lead is beginning to appear insurmountable, as they have opened a huge 14 point lead. They are literally the Patriots of the PQBFL, and especially now after the controversial trade that brought them Tony Romo. Everyone in the league knew the BBs were a top rank team, yet even with that fact they somehow get the 2nd best QB in the league in trade. You can only shake your head at this. Romo comes through with 30.25 pts for them this week where they would have had only 16 if they didn’t get him in trade. Even then they still would have won the week but it still is difficult to see such a strong team trade to get one of the league’s most outstanding players on top of it. LT had a nice week with 30.25 of his own, and Willie Parker had a particularly horrible week else this one could have been a total runaway for BBs.  The BBs were solid throughout, getting good production from defense. When times are good they are good for the BBs, as even the lowly Dolphins who gave up 40 points to the Jets of all teams scored them 10.5 points. The reemergence of Torry Holt also may signal future dominant performances from these guys, as they have options at the receiver and RB positions.

Uncle Jack took 2nd to match his best performance of the season . UJ snuck in to 2nd thanks to the Colts offense, which is usually a pretty good bet. Peyton Manning and Dallas Clark combined for 52.5 points, easily outdistancing the rest of the team this week. UJ has to be feeling better now after a season that so far has included three last place finishes and three 2nd to lasts. UJ is part of the controversy that has led to the BBs dominance in the league, as he traded them Homo. Lofa Tatupu had a monster week with 3 interceptions, and that was certainly the main reason for such a good week for UJ.

Dugongs had to be disappointed to slip to 3rd this week, though they did move into a tie with Flying Elvis for 2nd place overall in the league. It looks like this could be a pitched battle to the end for these two, as there is some distance between the rest of the pack and these two when it comes to 2nd.  FE thought he had a very comfortable 2nd place cushion just a few short weeks ago, but Dug has come on like gangbusters and was looking good to actually take sole possession of 2nd going into Monday night. Even just a decent night out of Randy Moss would have given him 2nd, but it wasn’t meant to be. Dugongs is very thin at the QB position, as only Matt Hasselback even played this week. The loss of Donovan McNabb could hurt him badly. Luckily for Dugongs AJ Feeley did not have a dominating performance last week else McNabb’s job could have been on the line. Rookie Adrian Peterson came back to have yet another great week, putting up 22.5 points. An unexpected hero for Dug this week was DL Jared Allen, with a rare TD and 2 sacks . Dug also got great production from Colt Brennan at the college position. 10.75 pts is a nice showing from this position.

FlyingElvis was a distant 4th place this week, and this team has certainly lost much of the steam it once had. One of the major reasons has been the loss of rookie RB Marshawn Lynch . Also for the past few weeks Brady has actually been somewhat human while other teams keep him off the field. RB is a real problem for FE as Addai has not done what was expected as the #1 pick, and Maurice Jones-Drew is just inconsistent at RB. The stars for Elvis this week were the Panthers D with 25.5 pts and Brian Urlacher with 19 big defensive points. TO has proven to be a nice pick for Elvis this year in spite of the warnings and wails that came when he was taken high in the draft. Plaxico Burress has declined precipitously and is going to the bench for FE, and the TE position has been simply horrible for him all season.

OldNo7 took 5th this week and is fighting for the final money position in the league. Old has won only 1 week this season and for most weeks this season they are mired in the middle with a lot of 4th and 5th place finishes. Old could easily have taken 4th this week but for the horrible week of Brett Favre who got hurt. Favre’s next start is actually in question. Actually, no, it isn’t. I think if you cut his arm off he would still start . Well this week Old wishes he had done just that, as he got negative points from this key position. Old really didn’t have any great options at QB, but if he had started Palmer instead of Favre it would have gave him another rank point. The highlight of Old’s week came at the WR position. Braylon Edwards and Reggie Wayne are a formidable twosome and proved it again this week, getting 46 combined points. Other than that there really were no standouts for Old, though it should be mentioned that he has a good rookie in Dwayne Bowe.

WaxOnWaxOff took 6th place this week as he suffered a similar fate at the QB position that Old did. Schaub got hurt pretty early in the game and therefore did nothing, giving Wax a lousy 1 point. Thank God for Wax’s defense or this week could have been downright ugly. His defense totaled 68.5 points which is more than half of the team’s points . Amazingly they could have even done better if Merriman was in. All of Wax’s defensive players scored well. Conversely, all of his offensive players basically stunk. The WR corps of Steve Smith and Brandon Marshall led their offense with 12.25 and 10.25 points each. Wax has been killed with injuries this year, racking up 1891 injury points easily outdistancing the rest of the league in this area.

The Decepticons came in 2nd to last despite owning just about every RB in the league. Not sure what the thought process was here , as it is nice to have depth, but 8 RBs? Dec must be a negative thinker because only someone thinking their RBs are going to go down with injuries a LOT would draft so many RBs. Anyway, McGahee did have a very good game vs. the Pats, and Andre Johnson had a good game at the WR position. It is also that time of year when the college games are essentially done and Dec suffered from this. Not many highlights to note for Decept this week. They need to come back from this bad week though, as they are battling OldNo7 for that 4th place finish.

The Spitoons brought up the rear this week, for the 5th time this season and 2nd week in a row. Spits team did not appear to be very bad, the problem here is there is no one particularly good on the team. Jon Kitna has had some decent games this year, but the Lions are looking just like the Lions of old now so his value may be declining. Brian Westbrook is the top RB in the league, and Maurice Morris had a decent game as well. Starting Larry Fitzgerald hurt Spi because he did not play. In addition to this he also had no starting DB, so you have two big positions without any points. Spi may have mailed this season in, else he needs to find a website with better injury updates.

Note: sometimes the NFL announces stats changes and according to PQBFL rules, the results are not totally official until Sunday 1pm Eastern.
