The Dugongs won for the second time this season with 177.5 pts .  The Dugongs benefited from a late surge with 4 TDs by R Moss on SNF and 43.75 pts.  This was easily Moss’s best game of the year as he had previously not even scored in the 30s.  Moss took over the top position in the WR rankings.  Because the Dugongs are struggling at the RB position, ROO Adrian Peterson’s injured turned out to be a mixed outcome for the Dugongs.  Backup rookie L Landry is a below average starter (9th best rookie so far), but Peterson’s absence paved the way for a big day by Chester Taylor.  Taylor cast some doubt about whether Peterson is really that good or if it’s the Vikings offensive line that is good.  C Taylor got over 200 yds from scrimmage and scored 3 TDs for 31.75 pts.  Due to the presence of A Peterson, his previous season high was only 8.75 pts.  The Dugongs also got a decent game from Hasselbeck (2 TDs and over 300 passing yds against the overrated Bears defense).  On defense, J Allen was unable to sack P Manning, but got 4 passes defended and went on to score 13 pts. Allen is currently crushing all other DLs in the league by more than 3 pts per game, which is the third largest domination of all positions after QB and rookie.

The BeaudoinBrothers kept on rolling with a third second place in the last four weeks and beat FlyingElvis for the eight time in 11 weeks .  Romo was the top scorer for the BBs but his production is not what allowed the BBs to beat FE because his four TDs all went to FE’s T Owens.  The BBs had a solid week due to consistent production from almost the entire lineup.  LT, Holt, TJ Housh, and Gates each scored a TD.  On defense, D Ryans and E Sims both got 10+ tackles/assists and Rhodes picked off a pass from Roethlisberger.  The BBs now lead FE by 10 rank-points in the standings.  The biggest comeback ever to win the league was in 1997 when the BBs were down by 4.5 rank-points behind the Crashers after 9 weeks.  Adjusted for league size, 4.5 rank-points in 1997 is worth 10.5 rank-points in 2007.  FE has a tall order if they want to catch the BBs who have been extremely consistent this year.  In 11 weeks, the BBs have not been in the bottom half of the standings yet.  The league record was established by the Spitoons last year with 12 straight weeks in the top half of the standings (from week #6 to week #17) and 13 straight weeks if we include the following season (the streak ended in week #2 this year).

FlyingElvis was in big trouble after the 1pm games but made a furious comeback with T Owens scoring 4 TDs in a 4pm game and Brady adding 5 more TDs on SNF .  FE was almost able to catch up the BeaudoinBrothers but failed on MNF when Champ Bailey was held to only 6.5 pts .  It was the second time this year that FE lost to the BBs by five points or less.  FE has gotten great production from only a few players (including Brady) all year, while the rest of the lineup has been pretty bad and it’s costing the team dearly.  This week, almost every starter besides Brady and Owens had disappointing games.  MJD scored a TD but only got 37 yds from scrimmage.  P Burress only caught four short passes and no TD.  The TE position continues to be a mess for FE and the defense is not much better.  The Panthers scored a paltry 2.5 pts on the road against the Packers.  If FE had started the Jets instead, FE would have beat the BBs this week.  The Jets scored 12 pts on the bench.  The FE coach made the mistake a starting injured S Taylor while M Peterson was benched and Peterson scored 6 pts.  Because FE finished 5 pts behind the BBs, this was the difference maker.

The Decepticons scored 142.5 pts but could not do better than 4th place in what was a high-scoring week.  The Cons’ receivers were hot this week with 20 pts from A Johnson and 14.75 pts from Colston.  The return to health of A Johnson is a big plus for Dec .  Cooley caught 8 passes and a TD for 18.25 pts.  Another unexpected receiver was Hobbs from the Pats defense who caught a ball that popped loose high in the air and ran it back for a TD.  The Pats defense scored 19.5 pts for Dec.  Individual defensive players had another bad week however and this has been a problem all year.  Bulluck scored 5 pts and he ranks 23rd out of 27 LBs so he’s been a huge bust.  A Winfield only scored one point because he is still bothered by an injury.  Star rookie P Willis had his second bad game in a row with only 4 pts.  He dropped to 4th best rookie behind Bowe (Old).

OldNo7 was unable to follow up the week #10 win with another dominating performance.  Old went back to his old habits of having an average performance and finished between 3rd and 6th for the eight time in nine weeks .  Rookie Bowe was the team’s top scorer was 16 pts this week.  Much of the remaining production came on defense.  The Chiefs surprisingly held the Colts to only 13 pts and 216 yards of total offense on the road.  Ju Peppers had his first good game since week #6 with 15 pts.  L Fletcher continues to perform as the league’s top LB and he scored 13.5 pts.  DB Sean Jones is quietly having a good year as the 3rd best DB .  He scored 14.5 pts this week.  Unfortunately for Old, the WRs who are normally a strength had an off week.  R Wayne and B Edwards did not score a TD and both got a single-digit score.  At RB, S Jax was also held to a single-digit despite playing the 49ers.  Re Bush has been a disappointment considering the fact that McAllister is out to an injury.  Bush caughed it up twice and losing one of the two fumbles.  Bush ranks 10th best RB.  At QB, C Palmer had another so-so game with 11.75.  Who would have thought that the Bengals would not even be in the playoff race.

WaxOnWaxOff made a comeback on MNF to steal 6th place away from the Spitoons.  B Marshall is a nice promising WR who could be a good asset on Wax’s saved team in 2008.  Marshall scored 15.5 pts to lead the Broncos to a key win against the Titans.  DJ Williams slightly exceeded expectations by scoring 10 pts and so did Elam with 8.5 pts, all in the MNF game.  With so many injuries at the RB position, Wax is left was crap and only got 8.5 pts at the position for both RBs combined .  S Smith has been almost useless since Delhomme got injured and now Smith is injured himself.  Re Brown replaced him in Wax’s starting lineup but he only scored 3.75 pts while DJ Hackett was benched with 21.75 pts .  At the TE position, Wax’s coach also made a mistake by benching B Watson (10 pts) and starting H Miller (3.75 pts).  Wax ended up with the second worst coaching efficiency this week with 73.4%.

The Spitoons wasted a big lead against Wax on MNF when DB C Hope only scored 4 pts.  The Spitoons had high hopes from Hope this year by making him an early draft pick, but Hope’s hopes were not founded.  He ranks 17th DB out of 23 this season .  Speaking of disappointments on defense, J Taylor is up there too.  Taylor was a saved player and was expected to be a leading DL like last year.  He only ranks 7th however and he scored only one point this week.  On offense, Spi got a good game out of L Fitz (17.5 pts), but other key starters got average to below average performances, notably Kitna at home against the Giants defense (10.5 pts) and the old Priest who only scored 4.5 pts against the Colts.  M Morris scored 14.75 pts on the bench in replacement of S Alexander.  The Ravens defense scored a TD, but were otherwise horrendous by allowing 26 pts and 380 yds to the Browns at home.

UncleJack struggled to a second last place in four weeks with only 99.25 pts, finishing more than 25 pts behind 7th place.  UJ is only 3 rank-points behind Wax and 2 rank-points behind the Spitoons in the standings but must wake up soon to avoid being the doormat of 2007.  P Manning has been affected by M Harrison’s absence, but that does not excuse his 2-point game against the Chiefs .  Manning did not throw a TD and could not reach 165 passing yds.  At RB Portis slowed down with only 4.75 pts against Dallas.  C Johnson’s streak of not scoring TDs continued.  CJ has not scored since week #2 while TJ Housh scores almost every game.  The rookie position is a mess for UJ.  Acquiring Jacoby Jones was not the answer for UJ and all other rookies for UJ are not doing anything.  All four rookies combined for only 1 pt this week and none of them are injured.
