The longest active drought of not winning a week is over.  After 45 straight weeks of not winning, OldNo7 finally came through with a win this week.  Coincidentally, it was the first time (ever?) that Old did not submit his weekly lineup, so he was stuck with his week #9 lineup.  This resulted in a horrible 63.4% coaching efficiency and Old escaped with a close win anyway.  R Wayne saved the day with 24 pts on SNF, outscoring LT and Gates combined for the BeaudoinBrothers.  Rookie Bowe did not score a TD but had a nice game with 9 receptions for 105 yards.  Bowe is currently the 4th best rookie in the league.  Old had a big week on defense with 11 pts from Will Smith, 10 pts for Fletcher, 8 pts from S Jones, and 19 pts from D Johnson who got 11 tackles, 1 INT, and one forced fumble.  Old left some points on the bench with S Jackson 19.25 pts and Shockey 23.25 pts.  With Shockey’s big game, he jumped over his nemesis Cooley in the TE rankings.  With this week’s win, Old moves to 4th place in the standings in front of the Decepticons.

The BeaudoinBrothers scored a below-average 133 pts but it was enough for second place in what was the lowest scoring week of the season.  The BBs were expected to blow out FE this week with Brady on bye, but the win was only confirmed on Sunday Night and it stayed close for a while in what turned out to be an underwhelming performance by the BBs.  The BBs nonetheless benefited from FE’s late struggles and beat their main opponent by three rank-points, which was the first time since week #1 that the BBs beat FE by more than two ranks.  The BBs extended their lead to 9 rank-points.  Roethlisberger doubled every other started for the BBs with 29.25 pts in a comeback win against the Browns.  Roeth is the league’s 4th best QB and if we exclude the injured Delhomme, he’s 3rd best behind Brady and Romo.  The rest of the BB team had mostly sub-par games but did just enough for a top 2 finish.  LT scored 13 pts and Holt scored 14 pts.  College QB Graham Harrell threw for 5 TDs on the road against Texas and distanced Colt Brennan (Dug) in the college player standings.  TJ Housh failed to score a TD for the first time this year and Gates only scored 4.25 pts, which was a drag on the BBs this week.

The Spitoons rebounded from the e-mail failure in week #9 with a third place this week.  Westbrook got 183 yds from scrimmage and scored 3 TDs this week.  Westbrook is in line to replace ancient and washed up S Alexander as Spi’s franchise player in 2008.  Westbrook is the top RB in the league, in front of Addai and LT.  L Fitzgerald has had an up and down season so far (14th best WR) but it was an up week this week with 2 TDs and 23.5 pts.  With Harrison injured and Galloway on bye, Spi had to start V Jackson who scored only 3.25 pts against the Colts.  V Jackson’s outlook has dimmed since Chris Chambers joined the Chargers.  At RB, Priest Holmes made a return from the dead.  He started and scored 7.5 pts.  He would have been better off on the bench with M Morris scoring 11.5 pts on the bench.  The biggest disappointment for Spi this week was the overall performance of the Ravens.  Bart Scott only scored 4 pts, Stover only scored 1 extra-point, and the Ravens defense was put in a hole all day by their offense which was turning the ball over constantly, and the Ravens D only scored 2 pts.

Hasselbeck and Gore did just enough on MNF for the Dugongs to beat FE but failed to jump over the Spitoons.  Hasselbeck was the team leader with 19.5 pts this week.  The team’s second highest scorer was DB Gibril Wilson who had a monster game against Dallas with 10 tackles, 4 assists, and one INT.  G Wilson moved up to 2nd best DB in the league.  The Dugongs struggled at the WR position with R Moss on bye.  Boldin only scored 4.25 pts and G Jennings 7 pts.  Rookie Adrian Peterson was held under 60 yds by the Packers defense before leaving the game due to an injury.  This injury could be a big blow to the Dugongs down the stretch if Peterson misses significant time.  Nobody has ever doubted Peterson’s talent, but his problem has always been staying on the field, with injuries hitting him in college too.  The Dugongs had problems this week at the RB position as well because of L Johnson’s injury and Maroney being on bye.  Davenpoop had to start and he only scored 3.25 pts.

FlyingElvis failed to make a trade for a QB with Brady on bye, Leinart injured, and Culpepper benched.  FE made horrible trade offers to other teams in the PQBFL and everybody blew him off.  This was a very costly mistake because FE needed only 8 pts from the QB position to finish 3rd instead of 5th FE is glad the bye weeks are behind, and should be able to compete with the BBs for the rest of the season since both teams are neck to neck in the strength of starters (163.1 for BBs, 163.0 for FE).  FE is behind in the standings mainly due to weaker backups and lower coaching efficiency (BBs are first with 83.9% and FE is 5th with 80.0%).  Addai sucked big time on Sunday Night with only 6 pts and he was the main reason why FE dropped to fifth place.  V Davis can also be blamed.  Davis only caught one pass for 4 yds on MNF.  T Owens saved the day for FE with 28.25 pts in a big win against the Giants.  After a slow start, M Jones-Drew has improved and scored 15.75 pts this week, moving up to 8th best RB.  On defense, the Panthers have had a bad year, but scored a TD this week against the Falcons.  Rookie M Lynch continued his good work with 13 pts and he remains 2nd best rookie in the league.

For the first time of the year, the Decepticons did not get a top 3 finish in an even-numbered week.  The Cons disappointed by failing to reach 100 pts for the second straight week.  Roy Williams and Colston did well with 18.25 pts and 14.25 pts, but the rest of Dec’s lineup was pretty bad.  D Brees scored 12 pts which is not all that bad, but he was playing the Rams at home so 20+ pts was expected of him.  Dec’s RBs are all mediocre this year and this week was no different.  McGahee and B Jacobs failed to reach double-digits.  Rookie P Willis had a rare off game with only 5 pts but it was already a lost cause by Monday night.  The college player position has also been a problem for Dec all year with both I Johnson and M Hart banged up and/or not performing well.  Dec started Hart this week but he missed the game to injury.  Hart and Johnson rank 8th and 9th out of 13 college players this year.

UncleJack finished in the bottom 2 for the fifth time this year with only 85 pts.  LB D Ware was the team’s highest scorer with 14 pts.  Portis was the only other player to show up on the field and put up decent production with 157 yds from scrimmage and 13 pts.  Everybody else on UJ’s team scored in the single digits.  P Manning had quite possibly the worst game of his career with 6 INTs.   Manning scored 4.75 pts which was the first time this year he did not score at least 13 pts.  UJ is still waiting for C Johnson to wake up.  CJ was scoreless again this week and got 7.5 pts.  After getting a double-digit score in four of his first give games, CJ scored no more than 8.75 pts in each of his last 4 games.  T Gonzalez is the league’s second best TE so far, but he had a very bad week with only 4.25 pts.  The Steelers defense allowed 28 pts to the Browns at home and only created one turnover and no sack.  The Chargers were benched because they played the Colts, but the Bolts surprisingly scored 2 TDs and 24.5 pts.  This killed UJ’s coaching efficiency which ended up below 60% for the first time this year.

Wax failed to reach 100 pts for already the third time this year.  Wax had no defense whatsoever this week.  The Vikings scored -3.5 pts against the Packers.  L Little is lost for the year and Mario Williams was on bye.  DB Adrian Wilson was a very expensive draft pick but he is not getting it done this year for Wax.  A Wilson got injured after scoring only one point.  At LB, Merriman and DJ Williams combined for only 12 pts while Ray Lewis scored 16 pts on the bench.  With R Brown out for the year, Wax picked up J Chatman and he did well this week with 12.25 pts, which is more than any other RB on Wax’s roster.  Wax started QB Losman for the second straight week which was a strange move since Bulger was not on bye anymore.  Losman does not rank 23rd out of 28 QBs for no reason.  He scored 2 pts this week against the lowly Dolphins while Bulger got 19 pts on the bench.  One of the few bright points for Wax this year is the production of TE H Miller.  He is not being noticed much, but Miller is the league’s 6th best TE.
