The BeaudoinBrothers won by the largest margin of the season by beating FE by 20 pts this week.  This was the BBs third win in six weeks this season, and ninth win in the last 18 weeks if we go back to 2006 .  TJ Housh has been the BB MVP so far and he had another big game with 30.25 pts.  He leads all WRs in the PQBFL and his worst game was week #1 with 16.5 pts.  Not bad.  Franchise player LT finally exploded with 43.75 pts this week and moved up to second best RB in the league behind Westbrook (Spi).  LT’s production meant that Rivers and Gates could take a day off.  They only scored 2 pts and 5.75 pts.  This week we should note the performance of college QB Graham Harrell who scored 9.25 pts in a big division win against Texas A&M who were 5-1.  Harrell has clearly been the best college player in the PQBFL, dominating all other players by at least 2.5 pts per week.

FlyingElvis avoided a catastrophe by finishing right behind the BeaudoinBrothers for the third straight week.  FE was expected to have a rough week with Addai and M Lynch on bye and was projected last based on Vegas odds.  However FE came through with an important second to keep head above water.  FE is now 8 rank-points behind the BeaudoinBrothers and the situation is similar to 2006 when the BB kept beating Spi by only one rank until things fell apart in week #16.  Brady carried the team on his shoulders this week again with 41 pts in a road game against the previously unbeaten Cowgirls .  Brady is dominating all other players in the PQBFL by 5.6 pts per game.  FE got unexpected help from MJD who took advantage of F Taylor’s injury to score 28.25 pts.  DB Sean Taylor also had his best game of the year with 19 pts as we picked off Favre twice.

The Decepticons narrowly beat the Spitoons when Brooking and B Jacobs did just enough on MNF to beat E Manning.  The Cons took sole possession of third place in the standings and reached the .500 level with 21 wins 21 losses.  The Skins-Packers game was productive for Dec.  Kampman had his biggest game of the year with 19 pts including 2 sacks and 4 QB hits on Jason Campbell.  Dec also started Campbell who had a decent game with 15.5 pts.  Campbell used TE Cooley frequently all game long and Cooley scored a season-high 20.25 pts.  Cooley is now the 5th best TE in the league and is trying to put the Cooley vs Shockey debate to rest, leading Shockey by 3.3 pts per game so far .  T Henry was on bye this week (mostly spending time smoking pot) and Jacobs scored 7.25 pts in relief.  The second RB starting job might be a problem for Dec if T Henry is suspended.

The Spitoons got flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct this week , getting a 15-yard penalty and also being ejected from this week’s summary due to the unwarranted complaints on the Portis/Romo trade between the BBs and UJ.  The truth is that the Spitoons are pissed about their season going up in smokes and they are in danger of being the first team ever to have the shame of going from first to last.

The Dugongs also got flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct , getting a 15-yard penalty and also got ejected from this week’s summary.  However the Dugongs’ behavior of complaining about the trade was even worse than the Spitoons, because the Dugongs made a trade offer to the BBs last year that looked worse than the Portis/Romo trade.  Portis is currently the 12th best RB in the PQBFL and Romo is currently the 2nd best QB.  Last year after week #8, Dug offered Ju Jones (13th best RB at the time) and Vrabel in return for Vick (3rd best QB) and Kirk Morrison.  The player rankings are very similar for the Portis/Romo and Vick/JuJones trades, but the 2006 trade offer was worse because:

  1. The BBs had injury issues at QB with Bulger and Hasselbeck.  P Manning has no injury issues for UJ.
  2. The BBs already had LT (#1), K Jones (#7), and C Taylor (#12) so Ju Jones would have been their fourth string RB.  Portis becomes an immediate starter for UJ.
  3. The QB situation of the Dugongs was horrible, Carr (#15) was the best on Dugongs’ team.  However the BBs are not in huge trouble with Roethlisberger (currently #6).
  4. The Dugongs wanted the BBs to pay extra to get a RB by requesting K Morrison from the BBs.  But in this year’s trade, UJ does not have to pay extra to get a RB, in fact UJ is getting a rookie in the deal.

So the Dugongs’ complaining about the 2007 trade while making an apparently worse trade offer in 2006 is very reprehensible and shows that the team applies double standards.  The PQBFL management decided that extra punishment was warranted, and decided to suspend the Dugongs from the week #7 summary.

OldNo7 had a disappointing 6th place this week.  R Wayne was on bye but Stallworth came up big with 21.75 pts.  The other starting WR B Edwards scored three more TDs and is surprisingly the 6th best WR in the PQBFL.  The writer of this summary confesses that he certainly did not see that coming when writing the preseason draft analysis .  The problem for Old this week was the lack of production at RB.  MB3 has cooled down and only scored 4.75 pts.  Re Bush was expected to do better in the absence of McAllister but so far it’s not happening.  Bush scored in the single-digits again.  S Jackson’s absence is hurting Old pretty seriously and he needs to come back soon.  On defense, note that Ju Peppers had a second good game in a row, scoring 19.5 pts this week.  This compensates the horrible first four weeks of the season where Peppers only scored 12.5 pts total.  The Old coach can also be blamed for the loss of three ranks.  C Palmer was benched against the Chiefs (17.5 pts) and Old started Favre against the Skins instead (-0.25 pt).  This was obviously a homer pick with Old not wanting to cheer for Palmer against their beloved Chiefs.

UncleJack finished in the bottom 2 for the third time in four weeks as injuries at RB hurt.  E James keeps producing, but with J Lewis injured, C Brown started but got injured too during the game.  Brown scored most of his points on defense this week with 2 tackles and one forced fumble!    This is never a good sign.  The surprise move of the week when when UJ started P Manning on bye instead of Romo (14.5 pts).  This would have put UJ tied for third with Dec.  We knew something was going on with Romo with this unexpected benching.  Romo apparently violated team rules and was traded first thing Monday morning.  UJ does not phukk around with this sort of thing.  The top two scorers for UJ were T Gonzalez with 26 pts and the Chargers defense with 17 pts.

WaxOnWaxOff finished last for the second time in four weeks and dropped to last in the standings. Wax is waving the white flag, offering R Moss or S Smith in a trade.  Wax’s QB situation is catastrophic with Bulger and Delhomme injured, leaving only Schaub and Pennington.  Wax started the correct QB when Schaub scored more than twice as many points as Pennington (3 pts to 1.25 pt).   As bad as Wax’s QBs are, RBs are worse.  Rhodes laid an egg this week coming back from his suspension, and S Morris scored only one point before getting injured.  He is joining Maroney and Cadillac in the hospital room dedicated to Wax players.  Rudi Johnson just left that hospital room but he only scored half a point on the bench this week.  In the losing effort, S Smith had his first good game without Delhomme with 25.5 pts.  R Moss had an average day with 13.75 pts.  On defense, Merriman and Ray Lewis combined for 32 pts but that effort was wasted by Wax’s QB and RBs.

Note: sometimes the NFL announces stats changes and according to PQBFL rules, the results are not totally official until Sunday 1pm Eastern.
