FlyingElvis won for the first time in almost a full year to shake off the team’s slow start and suddenly move up to 2nd place in the standings .  Brady is clicking on all cylinders right now and currently leads the league with an average of 28.2 pts per game, compared to the deported franchise player Larry Johnson (Dug) who is currently 31st RB at an average of 5.8 pts per game, behind backups like Davenport and S Morris.  FE’s four RBs and WRs all scored at least 15 pts to lead FE to victory.  FE's RB due of Addai and surprising L Jordan (back from the dead) are currently 3rd and 4th best RBs in the league.

The BeaudoinBrothers finished second to take sole possession of first place with a five rank-point lead on FE .  The BB core players struggled some, with Roethlisberger only throwing for a short TD, LT being held under 100 yds again, Parker not scoring, and same for Holt.  However TJ Housh saved the team with a good 24 pt game during the 4pm games.  Note that Gates is also killing all opposition at the TE position.  Gates scored 16.5 pts this week – his worst game of the season so far.  If LT wakes up from his slump, look out.  The BeaudoinBrothers might significantly increase their lead in the standings.

The Dugongs got their best performance of the year with a 3rd place and are now tied in last place with Dec instead of being in last place alone.  This could have been a monster week for the Dugongs but they had an abysmal coaching efficiency of 54.1% .  This is the second lowest efficiency since this statistic started being tracked in 2005 (lowest = FE 49.2% in 2005 week #2).  The Dugongs benched McNabb (40 pts), Ronnie Brown (34.5 pts), Boldin (35 pts), and the Cowboys D (19.5 pts).  The Dugongs’ maximum possible score was 265 pts, crushing the previous record of 232.5 pts by Spi (2005 week #3) since this is tracked.  R Brown’s performance combined with the problems of L Johnson could mean that the first pick overall could ride the pine for much of the season for Dug.  Despite being in last place in the standings, the Dugongs have hope however.  All those big games by benched players means that the Dugongs now have the best strength of starters by far (Dug 191.9 and second is Wax at 172.0).  If the coach can stop drinking, the Dugongs could move up in the standings pretty fast.

The Spitoons bounced back from last place in week #2 with a 4th place.  However the more important news about the team is that injuries hit really hard in week #3 .  Rookie Posluszny has been lost for the season.  The same happened to backup RB McAllister.  The Spitoons are now dangerously thin at RB and have no more decent rookie to start until Brady Quinn hits the field for the Browns.  The Spitoons’ chances of repeating as league champions took a very big hit.  Spi’s best player this week was Westbrook who scored three times and got over 100 yards rushing and receiving.  Westbrook currently leads all RBs in the PQBFL.

OldNo7 scored a disappointing 122 pts this week but was able to beat Dec by 2 pts.  Reggie Bush benefited from McAllister’s absence by scoring two short TDs on MNF.  Braylon Edwards continued is good season start by scoring another TD.  He is now 11th best WR in the league.  Rookie D Bowe started to produce earlier than expected and he also scored a TD.  Old was held back by defense this week.  The Bears only scored 2.5 pts, Peppers 1.5 pts, and Briggs 2 pts.  The Bears D were very expensive as a 4th round pick, and they need to do more to help Old.

The Decepticons fell to last in the standings with a 6th place this week.  Franchise player Drew Brees is single handedly killing the team so far.  He scored -6.75 pts on MNF, the second time in three weeks that Mother Teresa scored more points than him .  He is the worse QB in the PQBFL so far if we exclude Leftwich who has not played yet.  Brees ruined great games by Roy Williams (27 pts), the Pats defense (14 pts), and K Bulluck (20 pts).  Although we should mention that Bulluck himself benefited from Brees’ suckness by getting 3 INTs.

UncleJack’s decline continued with a 7th place this week, dropping to 5th in the standings.  P Manning scored 14 pts which is ok, but it’s just off from the 20+ pts that other QBs are putting up, like Palmer (Old) and Brady (FE).  The team’s weakness (RB) was a problem this week, with E James and J Lewis combining for only 12 pts.  UJ almost scored as many TDs on defense than on offense with the Steelers getting 1, Brandon Jackson 1, Manning 1, and Dallas Clark 1.  LB Tatupu started great with 15 and 17 pts, but he was off this week with only 3 pts and dropped to 3rd best LB.  Despite scoring a TD, rookie B Jackson has not done the job for UJ so far.  His yardage totals are quite bad and V Morency might come back to health soon for the Packers.  Jackson is the 10th best rookie so far, which is not what UJ wants from their 5th round pick.

Wax celebrated week #2’s win too much and crashed to last in week #3.  Steve Smith from the Panthers performed like Steve Smith from the Giants by only catching a pass for 10 yds to go along a short run of 6 yds.  That limited Delhomme to 14.5 pts.  Franchise player Rudi Johnson only got 42 total yds and no TD.  The only good news for Wax was Randy Moss who continued on his torrid pace by scoring two more TDs to push his season total to 5 already.  The Vikings D slowed a bit with 8.5 pts on the road against the Chiefs.  They nonetheless continue to lead all defenses in the PQBFL with 17.8 pts per week on average.
