WaxOnWaxOff won for the first time since week #2 with a strong performance of 163 pts which was the team's highest score this year .  Wax was 15 rank-points behind the Spitoons after 11 weeks and it looked very unprobable that Wax could catch up to finish 2nd.  However Wax has now beat Spi for the fourth straight week and moved to only 3 rank-points behind Spi in the standings and have a real shot at 2nd place.  This week was relatively close until Wax took over with a TD from T Jones on Sunday Night and ran away with 2 more TDs from T Heap on Monday Night.  Heap had a slow start this season but has improved recently and is now the league's 3rd best TE in front of A Crumpler.  Wax benefited from the Bengals crushing the Lions with C Palmer scoring 19 pts and R Johnson scoring 21 pts.  Palmer remains the top QB and Rudi has quietly moved up to 8th RB in the league.  The Steelers D were another top scorer this week with 22 pts.  As good as they have been this year, they are no higher than 5th best defense, which is a bit surprising.  Rookie Moats had another good game in Westbrook's absence with 14 pts.  He has been key in Wax's late surge this season.

The BeaudoinBrothers once again came out on top of a close race on Sunday and Monday night when they were projected to finish very close to the Spitoons, OldNo7, and FlyingElvis.  Probably for the first time ever, a freakin' kicker bailed out the BBs in clutch time when Stover kicked 2 FGs and 6 x-pts on MNF when the Ravens demolished the Packers.  This was enough to edge FE who has not beat the BBs once this season.  M Hasselbeck continued his good work in Bulger's absence by scoring 26 pts this week.  Hasselbeck is now the 6th best QB in the league and for the first time since week #4 he could throw to his favorite WR D Jackson who returned from an injury.  Hasselbeck could be a very good saved player for the BBs in 2006.  Tiki Barber was the BBs' top scorer with 35 pts .  This guy has been a monster all year and has barely been noticed.  He has 2,000 yds from scrimmage and 10 TDs so far this year with 2 more games left.  He was probably the biggest bargain of the draft when he was available in the 5th round of the draft in August.  Tiki jumped over E James and Larry Johnson and is now the league's 3rd best RB.

FlyingElvis had their best week of the season with 140 pts and finished 3rd for the second time this year (no top 2 finish yet).  Larry Johnson is probably the main difference between the beginning of the season and the 2nd half of the season for FE.  The team got 15 rank-points from week #1 to #8 (1.9 rank-point per week), but since Priest is out, FE got 18 rank-points from week #9 to week #15 (2.6 rank-points per week).  LJ scored 26 pts this week.  FE will closely monitor Priest's status in the offseason to determine if LJ should be the team's franchise player.  Tom Brady was always considered one of the league's top QBs, but 2005 is the first year where it shows up in the stats.  Brady scored 24 pts this week and is now the league's 5th best QB in the PQBFL.  On defense, FE got good games from Ed Reed (11 pts - season high), T Suggs (8.5 pts) and Vrabel (13.5 pts).  FE had a good coaching efficiency of 88.1% this week, but it could have been better.  M Harrison was benched and scored 14 pts while starter S Moss scored only 5 pts .  It was the difference between 2nd and 3rd place this week.

The Spitoons coach failed to submit his starters again and the team is sinking fast .  The team's star on defense Zach Thomas was benched again and scored 13.5 pts while DL M Strahan started as defensive flex and only scored 3 pts.  This switch would not have been enough to beat FE, but the coach should be blamed nonetheless.  Apparently the team quit when the BBs ran away with the title and assumed that 2nd place was in the bag.  Not so fast.  The Spitoons will have to wake up and fight in the last 2 weeks to hold on to 2nd place.  The Spitoons' recent troubles run beyond the coach.  Rookie R Brown only has one double-digit game in the last 8 weeks.  The team got very little production (6 pts) out of QB Brees this week against the tough Colts D.  Crumpler was held in check all night by the Bears D and only scored 2 pts.  On the positive side, WRs S Smith and Larry Fitz were good again with 24 and 16 pts.  RBs S Alexander and L Jordan scored 19 and 15 pts.  So the 4 RBs/WRs are still performing at a high level.  What has changed in recent weeks is the production of the support cast of the Spitoons.

OldNo7 had a real shot at 2nd place this week with the Bears D scoring 15 pts on Sunday Night and Old was projected to finish within a point of the BBs before Monday Night's game.  However, to the image of the entire season, Samkon Gado (who was picked just this week to replace Priest Holmes) injured his knee early in the game and is lost for the season .  He only had time to score 3 pts, which was not even enough to beat the Spitoons and Old lost by 1 point.  If Gado had a big game, Old could have finished 2nd so 3 rank-points went up in smoke.  This season has been a nightmare injury-wise for Old.  The team is virtually assured of having first choice of draft spot in 2006 because they have 1,436 injury points compared to 1,178 for the Dugongs.  The season can't finish soon enough for Old.  They lead UJ by 7 rank-points and trail Dug by 7.5 rank-points so they are almost assured of finishing the season in 5th place.  Note this week the emergence of TE C Cooley who scored 3 TDs and moved up to 5th best TE in the league.  He could be a nice saved player for Old in 2006.  Old's key players did not do all that great this week with Portis, A Johnson, and J Smith all scoring only 9 pts.  Cadillac Williams only scored 3 pts, his worst game since week #10.

The Dugongs got a second straight shitty week with another 6th place.  They have been partying too much after winning week #13.   QB K Warner scored 10 pts but was injured early in the game and is out for the rest of the season.  E James only got 25 rushing yards against the Chargers D, but scored a TD to save the day.  The other starting RB was T Bell and he is not even a starter in the NFL.  Bell scored 4 pts.  P Burress had another bad week with only 4 pts.  In his first 6 games this year he averaged 14.7 pts per game, but in his last 8 he is averaging 7.9 pts per game.  What happened to this guy?    The team's top scorer this week was R Wayne with 14 pts, which is nice, but not all that great.  The Dugongs got very average production from almost everybody this week.  Note T Gonzalez who scored 7 pts and is now the league's 7th best TE.  He has never really recovered from his slow start this year.  With only 2 TDs this year, he was an extremely expensive pick as the first player selected in the 3rd round of the draft.

UncleJack finished last for the 3rd time this season with only 95.5 pts this week.  The Colts lost for the first time this season largely due to P Manning's 1 TD and 2 INT game.  Randy Moss finally found the end zone on a 28-yard TD, but that was the only pass he caught all game!  He SUCKS and makes UJ's coach sick .  The Colts D have been solid all year but could not contain the Chargers this week.  They allowed 26 pts and 453 yds even though LT was banged up.  On defense, the coach picked the wrong players again.  The starters P Kerney, N Barnett, J Peterson, and R Barber were almost the worst possible group of 4 the coach could have started.  Backup DBs D Sharper and Milloy outscored Barber.  Backup LB Al Wilson outscored both Barnett and Peterson.  Backup DL S Rice beat Kerney.  R Hayward was the only benched player who did worse than the starter at his position.  The only good news for UJ this week: C Dillon is now healthy and scored a double-digit game for the third straight week, and rookie Mark Clayton scored a TD for the third straight week as well.
