The BeaudoinBrothers wrapped up the PQBFL championship with their 2nd best performance of the year (178 pts).  This is the first PQBFL title since 2000 for the BBs!    The BBs once again dominated even though some of their players were off their A-game.  LT only scored 6 pts, CJ only 3 pts, and Holt only 11 pts.  Instead, the team was carried by Hasselbeck (28 pts) and Gates (25 pts) this week.  Michael Lewis also contributed with 17.5 pts, which was his best game of the year.  He moved up to 6th best DB in the league.  He has been a nice addition to the BBs in the trade with Wax, but C Chambers was much too high a price to pay nonetheless.  The rest of the defense was also very solid.  Osi Umenyiora got a double-digit game again.  M Peterson and J Vilma scored 12 and 14.5 pts.  It is worth noting that all 4 of the BeaudoinBrothers LBs are in the top 5 of the league!  Each week two studs are benched.  The most silent contributor to the BeaudoinBrothers' success has been Tiki Barber.  He scored 22 pts this week, again in the shadow of other top performers on the team like the WRs, LT, or Gates.  This week was the BBs' 8th win in 14 weeks, tying their 8 win record from 2000.  Chances are that this record will fall in the next three weeks unless the BBs can't win in weeks #15-17.  In addition to this record, avoiding last place is not the main thing in the BBs' mind right now, but it is worth noting that the record of 45 straight weeks without finishing last has been broken this week with a 46th straight week without last place.  The old record was held by the BBs (from 1997 week #17 to 2000 week #10).  The BBs have not finished last since week #2 in 2003.

WaxOnWaxOff finished in the top half for the third straight week and moved in front of the Dugongs in 3rd place.  Wax is also benefiting from the late season collapse by the Spitoons and moved to within 6 rank-points of 2nd place.  With 3 weeks left, everything is still possible for Wax.  Rookie Ryan Moats got his first start for Wax because Westbrook is out for the year and he took advantage of the opportunity by scoring 23 pts.  Nice call by the coach to start him with no prior experience as a starter .  The 2 starting RBs D Davis and Rudi Johnson scored 20 pts each.  Like last year, K Bulluck is finishing the season strong.  He scored 17.5 pts this week and he is averaging 13.6 pts in his last 5 games.  Wax needed another big game from C Palmer to rival with the BBs but unfortunately, Palmer was quiet while Rudi did all the work.  Palmer only scored 5 pts, which was his worst game of the year.  This was only the 2nd time this year that he scored less than 14 pts.

UncleJack finished 3rd despite scoring only 122.5 pts.  UJ gained one rank-point on OldNo7 in 5th place and is now 5 rank-points behind Old.  P Manning led the team again with 23 pts.  He almost caught up C Palmer as the league's best QB with an average of 19.1 compared to 19.2 pts per week for Palmer.  Rookie Mark Clayton got his second good game in a row with 20 pts this week.  After a very slow start, he moved up to 9th best rookie.  C Dillon seems to be fully recovered from his injury and he scored 16 pts.  On the negative side, Randy Moss played another stinker with only 2 pts.  This was the 6th time in the last 9 weeks that he scored less than 8 pts.  What a bust!  At DB the coach started the wrong players again.  R Barber was benched and he got 6 tackles, 1 sack, 1 INT and 1 PD for 14 pts.  Starters Milloy and D Sharper got 8 pts each - which is not bad, but that's 6 pts in the toilet compared to R Barber .  The rest of UJ's lineup was nothing impressive this week: 7 pts from Droughns, 8 pts from Rod Smith, 4 pts from Troupe, 5 pts from Kerney, etc.

OldNo7 finished 4th by barely beating FE by 2 pts.  We could see it coming for a few weeks, but now it's official: Cadillac Williams is back on track.  He scored 21 pts this week and moved back up to 2nd best rookie in the league.  He scored 2 TDs and gained over 100 yds against the tough Panthers D on the road.  Nate Clements was another big scorer this week with 9 tackles, 2 assists, 1 INT, and 1 PD.  He is having a nice season as the league's 5th best DB.  Old had a mediocre week because of a lack of consistency from several players.  Andre Johnson has had a shitty season overall, and he has been very inconsistent since coming back from his injury (he was consistent before his injury: he sucked all the time ).  For the 4th time in 6 games since his injury, he scored 7 pts or less.  This won't cut it in this league.  The coach screwed up on the 2nd starting WR.  J Smith scored 19 pts on the bench against the Colts.  Meanwhile, starter D Mason only scored 8 pts and dropped to 26th WR in the league.  After the game he complained about his role in the Ravens offense.  When he left the Titans to join the Ravens, did he not know what kind of offense the Ravens had?  Dumb ass!

FlyingElvis avoided last place for the 7th time in 14 weeks.  Larry Johnson continues to light up the scoreboard in Priest's absence with 32 more points this week - he is on fire .  LJ is now the 4th best RB in the league despite being a backup for the first half of the season.  He has a real shot of passing E James as 3rd best RB with 3 games left, especially because the Colts may rest James quite a bit, having no more incentive from now on with home field advantage already wrapped up.  LJ was the perfect player to draft for an expansion team and he is paying dividends earlier than expected.  Brady has been reliable all year long and he continued to perform this week with 20 pts.  He is currently the league's 5th best QB.  M Harrison also had a big game with 25 pts.  With these 3 big games from LJ, Brady, and M Harrison, it is surprising that FE could not do better than 5th place.  The main reason is defense.  The Eagles D only scored 3 pts and individual defensive players only scored 16.5 pts combined, which was easily beat by only one or two starting defensive players (out of 4) from several of FE's opponents.  Also, the coach made the mistake of starting Jamal Lewis who did not even play.  On the bench, W Parker scored 9 pts and M Bennett scored 8 pts.  Regular starter McGahee was benched but he scored zero just like J Lewis.

The Dugongs found out why it is difficult to perform at a high level every week.  After getting their first win of the season last week, they followed up with a shitty 6th place and failed to reach 100 pts for the 2nd time this year.  They fell to 4th place in the standings behind Wax.  The only good news is that they gained a point on the 2nd place Spitoons.  Adrian Wilson was the only player that got a good game with 12.5 pts.  He leads all DBs this season in front of R Barber (UJ) and D Sharper (UJ).  He has been very good recently with 5 games of 10+ pts in the last 7 weeks.  But other than him, almost everybody sucked.  P Burress only scored 3 pts.  After a strong season start, he has been tanking recently and now ranks 14th best WR .  R Wayne only scored 8 pts, his lowest score since week #2.  The over-rated Freeney scored his third goose egg in 6 weeks - what a loser!  LBs Urlacher and Brooking were very average again, with 10 and 5.5 pts.  QB Warner scored 7 pts and RB C Brown scored 8 pts.  This team has no superstars at all other than E James and it will be interesting to see what kind of saved team they can salvage for 2006.

The Spitoons are continuing their free fall with a third straight bad week.  They finished last for the first time this season and also failed to reach triple digits for the first time of the season.  In the last three weeks, the Spitoons have been the worst team in the league except for FE.  The Spitoons were officially eliminated this week, but also lost big against Wax and lost one rank-point to the Dugongs and now have 2 teams trying to catch them in 2nd place.  The coach failed to submit his starters for the 2nd time in 3 weeks and it showed up on the scoreboard with a league-low 60.8% coaching efficiency.  The leader of the Spitoons' defense Zach Thomas was benched and scored 16.5 pts compared to starters D Brooks, J Taylor, Strahan, and Trufant who scored no more than 8.5 pts.  The Jaguars D was started against the Colts... huh that's generally not a good idea .  They scored only 1.5 pt while the Pats scored 22 pts on the bench.  Rookie Ronnie Brown did absolutely nothing against the Chargers and even fumbled once to finish with -1 pt.  WRs L Fitz and S Smith got below average games once again with only 6 and 10 pts - they have slowed down since week #11.  The coach has to wake up and the Spitoons players have to wake up because 3 weeks is enough time for the Dugongs or WaxOnWaxOff to pass them by in the standings.
