The BeaudoinBrothers POWERHOUSE crushed everybody by 50+ pts this week for their unbelievable 7th win in 12 weeks .  The team is so loaded that they were able to score over 200 pts without injured Bulger and A Gates .  The BBs benefited from the Spitoons struggles this week to open up a huge 14 rank-points lead in 1st place.  The PQBFL championship was still uncertain prior to this week, but now unless the BeaudoinBrothers collapse, it is an almost unsurmountable lead with only 5 weeks left.  Tomlinson tied his season-high 37 pts this week.  T Holt took over as best WR in the league with 22 pts despite having a 3rd string QB throwing the ball to him.  The BBs could have benched LT and Holt and would still have won because almost everybody had a great game.  Backup J Shockey did very well in Gates’ replacement with 23 pts.  O Umenyiora continues his great season with 16 pts this week.  Rookie O Thurman scored 12.5 pts and still leads all rookies in the league by more than 2 pts per week.  Everybody contributed this week, even DB Boulware got an INT.  The BeaudoinBrothers have started to prepare the champaign bottles for the championship celebrations .  They have not celebrated for five years.

OldNo7 got by far their best week of the season with 149.5 pts and beat Wax by half a point on MNF.  Old had been going down in weeks #8-11 but suddenly improved their lead over UJ to 4 rank-points and moved closer to Wax and Dug in the standings and still have a shot to 3rd place despite all the injuries that have hit this season.  Cadillac’s return to health could be key.  He scored 7 pts this week against the tough Bears D.  He has scored 23 pts in the last 2 weeks.  Andre Johnson has had a shitty season but since he came back from injury in week #9, he has averaged 12 pts per week, which is not bad at all.  This week he caught 12 passes for 159 yds, good for 24 pts.  If he can continue to perform, it will help OldNo7’s problems at WR tremendously.  Witten and T Green each scored 18 pts.  It was the first double-digit game for Witten since week #6.  T Green has had a rough season but can still put up good games.  J Farrior’s return from injury was big for OldNo7 because he got 9 tackles+assists on MNF to beat Wax.  The Bears D was solid once again with 10.5 pts and they lead all defenses in the league by 2.4 pts per week which is the 2nd biggest dominance at any position other than TE where Gates leads Shockey by 2.7 pts per week.

With 149 pts this week, WaxOnWaxOff got their best score since week #2 when they had their only win of the season.  Carson Palmer does not stop.  He scored a season-high 32 pts against the Ravens.  He has scored less than 14 pts only once the entire season.  Only 8 QBs in the league have an average over 14 pts per week.  Like last year, D Davis is doing better at the end of the season.  He got his best game of the year with 17 pts this week to follow up the 14 pts he scored last week.  He is generally considered a disappointment this season, but he was the 10th RB taken in the draft (including franchise players) and he is currently the 10th best RB in the league, so those impressions are unfounded.  Wax had another lackluster week at WR.  H Ward and D Branch scored 10 pts and 9 pts, not enough to beat OldNo7.

UncleJack got their 2nd best score of the year with 134.5 pts but that was only good for 4th place in an otherwise high-scoring week.  UJ did enough to distance FE 13.5 rank-points behind and is almost certain of finishing no worse than 6th.  P Manning scored 19 pts against the Steelers D, pretty good based on the opponent.  W Dunn and Droughns each got 100+ total yds but did not score a TD.  R Moss is officially one of the biggest busts this season .  His injury has bothered him all year, but the way he is used in the Raiders offense is also hurting his numbers.  He only scored 4 pts this week and dropped to 22nd WR in the league.  This is still better than UJ’s backup WRs Moulds, Bennett, and Muhammad, but for the 22nd WR in the league, a 2nd pick overall in the draft is pretty expensive.  R McMichael finally rebounded.  After scoring only 24 pts from week #6 to week #11, he scored 13 pts this week.  At DB, D Sharper continues to perform.  He scored 15 pts this week by getting two more INTs (7 total this season) and 4 passes defended.  He is surprisingly the best DB in the PQBFL.

The Spitoons’ hopes for a championship all but vanished this week with a disappointing 5th place.  The coach was too busy eating turkey and forgot to submit his lineup .  Zach Thomas started but he was injured.  Backup LB Marcus Washington scored 13.75 pts.  The Pats D started at KC (!!!) instead of the Jaguars D against the Cards, which cost the Spitoons 12 pts.  These two mistakes were the difference between 2nd place and 5th place.  Ouch!  The Spitoons coach had been doing an ok job this season after being not so good in 2003-2004.  Unfortunately we saw the old coach this week .  D Brees had an awful game with 3 INTs and scoring -2 pts while E Manning scored 22 pts on the bench.  However, it is more debatable whether the coach would have started Manning instead of Brees even if he had done his homework.  The team WRs were not motivated by the coach this week and had mediocre games.  S Smith only scored 5 pts as the Bills kept him in check all game.  L Fitz scored 10 pts which is below his standards.  Crumpler was the team leader with 25 pts scored on Thanksgiving.  Jason Taylor also got a huge game with 23 pts and he is still the undisputed DL king this season, leading all DLs by almost 2 pts per game.

The Dugongs had a rare off week with 6th place in week #12.  The week started well for the Dugongs with the Falcons D scoring 17 pts on Thanksgiving.  However it went downhill on Sunday starting when Leftwich broke his ankle at the beginning of the game before he could score a single point .  On MNF, E James and R Wayne had below average games with 12 pts and 8 pts.  Tony Gonzalez had his worse game since week #6 with 7 pts only.  Kickers don’t get mentioned often in this column because they are stupid and are in danger of being eliminated from the year before each season, but we should probably recognize Rackers’ performance at least once.  Rackers missed his first FG of the year after making 31 straight – this is quite an accomplishment .  He is still the best kicker in the league.  On defense, all Dugongs had below average games – backups and starters.  The Dugongs’ starters only scored 22.75 pts.  Chris Brown was the only player to have a good game on Sunday.  He scored 19 pts, his fourth straight game with at least 14 pts.  He has taken over the 2nd RB position for the Dugongs while Tatum Bell cannot even win the starting job in Denver.

FlyingElvis finished last for the 6th time this season.  We should note that after finishing last in each of the first 3 weeks of the season, FE finished last only 3 times in the last 9 weeks, but this is still not very good .  FE has 24 rank-points all year .  After only 4 weeks, the BeaudoinBrothers already had 26 rank-points.  The sad thing for FlyingElvis is that some players actually had good games this week but yet the team could not crack 100 pts.  Larry Johnson scored 16 pts which was his 4th straight good game since Priest was injured.  M Harrison scored 18 pts on MNF and S Moss scored 15 pts so nice week for FE’s WRs.  The Eagles D scored 13 pts – their 3rd best game of the year.  The problem with FE this week is that defensive players were horrible, scoring only 12.5 pts combined.  This week, 9 individual defensive players scored more than FE’s four starters combined!  Brady and McGahee had awful weeks as well, scoring 2 pts and 4 pts.  Rookie Matt Jones only caught one short pass and kicker Kaeding missed 2 FGs and almost cost the Chargers a win.  FE fall back further away from 6th place and are now almost resigned in thinking about 2006.
