The BeaudoinBrothers came back strong after their poor showing in week #7 with a win this week - their 5th in 8 weeks.  Antonio Gates led the BBs and the entire league with 37 pts.  With this performance he strengthened his lead as the top TE to 4.6 pts per week, in front of Shockey also of the BBs.  This is an enormous domination for any player at his position.  For comparison purposes, the 2nd biggest domination is 2.0 pts per week by Steve Smith (Spi) at WR and Neil Rackers (Dug) at K.  Gates is absolutely unbelievable, unstoppable - he is a super freak .  Tiki Barber also had a good game with 200+ yds rushing and 22 pts.  He moved up to 5th RB in the league and is filling in nicely for the disappointing season that K Jones is having.  Rookie O Thurman got two more INTs this week and scored 14 pts.  He took the lead as the best rookie, which would have been hard to believe at the beginning of the season.  The BeaudoinBrothers increased their first place lead to 12 rank-points and could really hurt the Spitoons if they distance them further in week #9.

The Dugongs finished 2nd for the 2nd time this season by closely edging WaxOnWaxOff on MNF with a decent game by the Ravens D.  Tatum Bell was the team leading scorer with 21 pts by scoring a lot of garbage points at the end of the blowout win against the Eagles.  He has scored 68 pts in the last 4 weeks and is emerging as a nice starting RB even though it did not look very good earlier this year.  This week, Tony Gonzalez finally woke up.  After scoring only 35 pts in his first 6 games, Tony G scored 17 pts this week.  The Dugongs' problems at WR continue however.  Plax only scored 6 pts, which is his 2nd bad game in 3 weeks .  McCardell scored 8 pts.  Starting in week #9, the Dugongs can be expected to use newly acquired Reggie Wayne.  He was on bye this week.  The Dugongs passed OldNo7 in the standings and are currently tied to Wax in 3rd place behind the Spitoons.

WaxOnWaxOff had a decent 3rd place but failed to beat the Dugongs on MNF because the Steelers D was not dominating against the Ravens.  They scored 8.5 pts which is not bad, but at home against the Ravens, a better game was expected.  C Palmer got back on track this week with 21 pts.  Rookie Heath Miller scored 2 more TDs - his fourth straight game with a TD and double-digit performance.  He has scored 50 pts during that period, for an average of 12.5 pts per week, which compares favorably to league leader O Thurman at 11.6 pts.  Miller is now the 4th best rookie with an average of 8.1 pts per week.  The rookie position was expected to be a weakness for Wax this year, but it is turning nicely due to Miller's importance in the Steelers offense.  The current problem for Wax is the RB's production.  With McAllister out for the year, nobody is picking up the slack.  This week, D Davis scored 9 pts and T Jones slowed down with a season-low 6 pts.  Rudi Johnson scored 7 pts on the bench.  T Jones dropped to 8th best RB and D Davis is only 18th.  Rudi Johnson was a 1st round pick but he is the 21st best RB - pretty big bust

The Spitoons had their first off week since week #4 with only 117 pts.  They lost almost all the ground they had gained on the BeaudoinBrothers last week and they are back to 12 rank-points behind.  The Spitoons cannot afford to be inconsistent if they want a chance to win the league.  D Culpepper got injured early in the game and is out for the year .  His 1-pt peformance hurt the Spitoons one last time this year.  This was the 5th time in 7 games that he scored 5 pts or less.  His injury may be a blessing in disguise for the Spitoons.  The team's RBs and WRs continue to perform at a very high level.  B Westbrook and L Jordan scored 31 pts together so S Alex's bye week went almost unnoticed.  T Owens and S Smith scored 46 pts combined.  S Smith has scored over 20 pts five times in seven games this season and leads all WRs in the league.  Other team owners should have cut him from the team's roster at the beginning of the season!  The Spitoons were slowed down this week due to Crumpler being on bye and their other TEs are out for the year to injuries.  On defense, Zach Thomas' worst game this season prior to this week was 14 pts (more than the average of any other LB in the league!) but in week #9, he unexplicably only scored 2 pts.  The rest of the defense was also awful.  J Taylor scored 3.5 pts and M Green scored only 1 pt.  D Brooks was ok with 9 pts, but nothing special.

UncleJack improved from two horrible performances in weeks #6-7, but still could not do better than 5th place.  UJ finished only 7 pts behind the Spitoons and Simeon Rice the bum can be blamed.  This jerk showed up late at a Bucs meeting and Gruden benched him.  UncleJack's coach had no chance of knowing Rice would not play .  Rice is a jackass.  Rice's average this year is 6.3 pts per game, so UJ would have had a shot at 4th place.  Randy Moss is still obviously injured and only scored 4 pts.  For one of the rare times this season, UJ started the right QB.  McNabb scored 23 pts while Bledsoe had 9 pts on the bench.  The decision was easier this week since P Manning was on bye.  Dillon scored 16 pts and Moulds 24 pts on Sunday Night to distance FlyingElvis.  This allowed UJ to increase their lead to 7.5 rank-points on FE in 6th place overall.

FlyingElvis had another rough week with a 6th place for the third straight week.  The team was playing without a DB because E Reed and Hamlin are injured.  The Eagles D was unbelievably shitty with -4.5 pts this week , after holding the Chargers in check last week.  Santana Moss got his worst game of the year with only 2 pts.  It was the first time since week #1 that he did not have a double-digit score.  FE had a few good performances this week however.  M Vrabel scored 18 pts and he has been doing better recently.  He moved up to 9th best LB.  Rookie Matt Jones scored a TD and 11 pts.  After a slow start, he now has 19 pts in his last two games.

OldNo7 had been consistent in weeks #1-6 (always between 3rd and 5th) but after a nice 2nd place last week, OldNo7 fell back hard with a last place this week - the first this year.  Aaron Brooks only scored 5 pts while Plummer scored 34 pts and T Green 19 pts on the bench.  At RB, Priest only scored 4 pts and got injured.  Portis only gained 9 yds rushing and scored 2 pts.  On the bench, S Jackson and F Taylor scored 22 and 21 pts!  OldNo7 got a coaching efficiency of only 53.6%, by far their worst of the season .  The team's previous low was 72.8% in week #2.  Overall, Old fell to 5th in coaching efficiency, behind the Spitoons.  Rookie Cadillac Williams appears to still be bothered by his injury.  He only scored 2 pts against the 49ers defense which had been burned by the Skins last week for 204 yds on the ground.  At DL, J Peppers continues to suck.  He scored 2 pts this week.  His average so far this year is 4.4 and he has not scored more than 7.5 pts in any single week.  Can you believe that only Kevin Williams (Dug) has a lower top score (5.75) than Peppers.
