The Spitoons won for the second time this season by scoring 138 in a relatively low scoring week.  The Spitoons are having a nice streak themselves with two 2nd places and one win in the last three weeks .  With the BeaudoinBrothers' struggles this week, the Spitoons were able to move from 13 rank-points to 9 rank-points away from 1st place in the standings.  The PQBFL championship is far from being wrapped up.  This 1st place by the Spitoons is yet another sign that this team is very dangerous because they did so with Steve Smith and the Jaguars D on bye and with S Alexander having a sub-par game with only 5 pts.  The Texans D had to start this week at Indy and avoided the worse and scored a surprising 7.5 pts.  D Culpepper had a good 2nd half against the Packers and he scored 25 pts.  This was Culpepper's 2nd good game in the last 4 games.  The Spitoons need him to perform if they want a chance to catch up the BeaudoinBrothers.  Rookie Ronnie Brown scored 17 pts this week and moved up to 3rd best rookie in the league.  After a slow start where he only scored 10 pts in the first 2 weeks, he has scored 50 pts in his last 4 games, for an average of 12.5 pts per week.

OldNo7 was finally able to have an above average week with a second place finish, only one point in front of the Dugongs.  C Portis had not scored a TD all year but took advantage of a good matchup against the 49ers defense to score 3 TDs and 24 pts.  Benching Priest Holmes in favor of Portis was the difference for OldNo7 between 2nd place and 3rd place.  Nice coaching job there.    The other RB S Jackson is taking advantage of Bulger, T Holt, and I Bruce's injuries because the Rams now have to run.  S Jackson scored 19 pts this week.  The Bears D had another solid game with 12.5 pts against the Ravens.  The Bears are still 2nd best defense in the league.  The WR position prevented OldNo7 from winning this week.  A Johnson and D Jackson are still injured, and J Smith on bye.  Backups D Mason and D Stallworth could not do better than 12 pts together.

The Dugongs came up short on Monday Night Football by one point and failed to beat OldNo7 .  Prior to this week, K Brooking had an average of 11.3 pts per week, but he only scored 5 pts on MNF.  It was very bad timing for him to get his worst game of the season.  E James led the way for the Dugongs with 22 pts.  As the Dugongs 1st round pick, he has certainly done his job - he is currently the 3rd best RB in the league.  Tatum Bell scored 26 pts and 16 pts in weeks 5-6, prompting the team to trade Jamal Lewis to FlyingElvis in return for a better WR - a position decimated by injuries.  T Bell started in week #7 but despite his good games in weeks #5-6, he is still stuck in a RB by committee in Denver.  He only scored 5 pts this week.  The good news is that R Wayne did well in his first game with the Dugongs by scoring an adequate 13 pts.  He is currently the league's 21st WR but is bound to improve.

WaxOnWaxOff were involved in a tight matchup against the BeaudoinBrothers up until halftime on Monday Night Football when L Coles distanced J Vilma from the BBs and Wax secured 4th place this week.  L Coles scored 14 pts this week - his best score of the year to help Wax finish ahead of the BBs for the first time since week #2.  Coles was Wax's highest scorer tied with D Davis also with 14 pts.  Davis' performance was impressive given the fact that the Texans were playing against the tough Colts D.  His outlook for the rest of the season is generally positive and he will be needed due to McAllister's injury.  Rookie Heath Miller got a two-digit performance for the 3rd straight week and moved up to 5th best rookie in the league.  C Palmer had a disappointing game against the Steelers D by scoring only 6 pts - his season low by far .  His worst game had been in week #4 with 14 pts - more than twice his week #7 output.  He moved down to 2nd best QB in the league after this week's performance.

The BeaudoinBrothers came back to earth with an awful week of only 112.25 pts and barely beating the sorry FlyingElvis.  Injuries are starting to catch up with the BBs, combined with bad games from most of the top players on the team.  M Bulger and T Holt were both out due to injuries.  Backups M Hasselbeck and A Boldin were horrible with only 6 pts and 0 pt.  Boldin had never caught fewer than 3 passes in his entire career and failed to catch a pass this week.  LT's performance was even more unbelievable.  He rushed 17 times for 7 yards and only got a total of 33 yds and no TD .  The RB king showed that he is human after all.  Chad Johnson joined the party and decided the time was right for his worse game of the year as well with only 8 pts.  The Bucs D was on bye and the Bills D got killed in Oakland and only scored 0.5 pt.  J Vilma was unable to beat L Coles on MNF but he did just enough to allow the BBs to beat FlyingElvis.  With injuries stacking up and most of the team's key players on bye during weeks #8-10, everything changed from what looked a runaway season to now a much darker future for the BBs.  The team is scrambling to fill holes and made another trade this week, acquiring D Carr and M Lewis to replace injured players or players on bye.

The FlyingElvis coach saved his job this week by posting a season-high 88.8% coaching efficiency by making almost all the right calls.  However, the team's talent level prevented them from doing better than 6th place.  They shaved another rank-point from UJ in 6th place and FE are actually closer to UJ in the standings than they were after week #3.  The team just need the coach and players to do well at the same time.  This week, B Favre did well with 22 pts and passed C Palmer as the league's top QB with 19.3 pts per game on average.  Santana Moss continued his great season by scoring another 17 pts.  He moved up to 2nd best WR in the league - who would have thought.  Great job by the GM on him.  He was drafted 174th overall - 23rd round pick!  That is what we call a huge bargain.  The Eagles D did extremely well with 18 pts against the Chargers offense.  They were the key in the Eagles' miracle win with a blocked FG returned for a TD.  On the bad side, A Green only scored 5 pts, got injured, and is now out for the year.    Both of FE's DBs were injured this week (E Reed and K Hamlin) after trading away G Baxter to the BBs after week #4.  Well Baxter is out for the year as well so the trade does not change anything.  FE was also playing without a rookie this week because both M Jones and E Hobbs were on bye.  Bad job here by the GM.

UncleJack finished last for the 2nd week in a row.  The GM was heard complaining about injuries before week #8.  However, the GM must not have noticed that UJ ranks last in injury points, therefore has been the team least affected by injuries.  One has to admit that injury points do not consider players injured during games, only players missing entire games.  R Moss is playing semi-injured and had to be benched by UJ due to the uncertainty with his status.  He nonetheless scored 12 pts, which is more than starters Moulds and R Smith combined (10 pts).  The Colts D was dominant again with 18.5 pts against the sorry Texans.  But even P Manning was not able to torch them.  He scored 14 pts, far below his record pace 25.7 pts per week he achieved last year.  The rookie position continues to be a problem for UJ.  C Benson is unable to win the starting RB job in Chicago because T Jones is playing too well.  Benson only scored 1 pt this week - and that's because of a fumble recovery, not yardage!    UJ also had a horrible game on defense with only 17.5 pts scored by D Howard, N Barnett, D Sharper, and L Milloy combined.
