The BeaudoinBrothers crushed everybody by a whopping 35.5 pts to follow up week #4's 33 pt domination.  This week, even with LT and Gates playing the tough Steelers D, and with Tiki on bye and Kevin Jones playing the Ravens D, the BeaudoinBrothers cruised easily to victory and did not even need LT and Gates to play on MNF.  The BeaudoinBrothers' lead in the standings is now 12 rank-points, which is more than 2 ranks per week on average.  The domination has been total so far.  No PQBFL team has ever surmounted a double-digit lead by a first place team in the standings, or not even to catch up the first place team to later fall back behind later.  The largest comeback was the BeaudoinBrothers in 1997, trailing by 9 rank-points (adjusted for league size 7 teams) after 9 weeks, and eventually winning the championship.  The largest comeback to first place but eventually but not winning the league was the Dugongs trailing by 9.8 rank-points (adjusted for league size) after 10 weeks and taking the lead after week #15.  On the other hand, we should say that double-digits leads in 1st place have been very rare so there is not much precedent.  One has to wonder if 12-rank points can be overcome by anybody – are the BeaudoinBrothers already champions after only 5 weeks?  Their opponents have to knock them off very soon otherwise it will be over at mid-season.  This five-week stretch was the best in league history (1st, 2nd, 2nd, 1st, 1st) and beat the previous record by WaxOnWaxOff in 2003 (1st, 1st, 1st, 4th, 1st) and the BeaudoinBrothers in 1999 (2nd, 1st, 1st, 3rd, 1st).

The Spitoons edged WaxOnWaxOff on MNF with 16 pts from Roethlisberger and they took control of 2nd place in the standings.  S Alexander the TD machine scored 2 more against the Rams .  Steve Smith bounced back from his horrible week #4 with 26 pts this week and moved up to 3rd best WR in the league.  The Spitoons are now clearly established as the favorites to finish 2nd this season.  Even with T Owens and B Westbrook scoring only 10 pts combined, other teams like Wax, Dug, Old, and UJ could not capitalize to beat the Spitoons.  The Eagles offense will not be shut out very often. This week showed us that the Spitoons are strong enough to finish 2nd even with two key players having bad weeks.   This is not good news for their opponents.

WaxOnWaxOff finished 3rd with 125 pts, failing to beat the Spitoons on MNF.  Wax claims to have been robbed of a Hines Ward TD in the first half when the refs overturned the call on the field of a TD .  Roethlisberger later scored himself later on that drive so it was the difference between Wax and Spi.  J Delhomme had a good game with 18 pts but Wax needed Delhomme to throw TDs to someone other than the Spitoons' Steve Smith.  So far this season, it has not happened often.  Keith Bulluck finally had a big game this year with 19 pts.  He had been a disappointment prior to week #5.  He moved up to 8th best LB in the league.  The other high draft pick at LB by Wax is Ray Lewis.  Lewis is struggling at 10th best LB, nowhere near expectations as the 2nd LB taken in the league.  D McAllister scored 6 pts this week, but the bad news is that Wax's franchise player tore his ACL and he is out for the year .  Fortunately for Wax, the team is deep at RB with Rudi Johnson, D Davis, T Jones doing well so far this year, and Ricky Williams coming back from his suspension in week #6.  Regardless, McAllister's injury is a big blow to Wax who had been the team the least hit by injuries prior to that.

UncleJack finished 4th with 116.5 pts, but was hoping for a better finish because they were projected 2nd this week by the Las Vegas bookmakers due to favorable matchups.  Can you believe that Peyton Manning only scored 8 pts against the shitty 49ers defense?  Manning threw 2 INTs so it's not like they were only running the ball.  Bledsoe was benched and scored 29 pts against the Eagles D – the world is upside down and UJ's coach is beating himself up after starting the wrong QB again .  At WR it was not better.  Starters Rod Smith and M Muhammad scored 11 pts combined, while Moulds and D Bennett were benched and each scored a TD after a slow start to the season.  The Colts D was the biggest scorer for UJ this week with 27.5 pts.  They are currently the best defense in the league.  They have only allowed 29 pts this season in 5 games, which is less than 2 FGs per game, and less than half the second best defense (Bucs allowed 59 pts in 5 games) .

OldNo7 was able to finish 5th despite Priest's bye week, Cadillac Williams and D Jackson's injuries.  It was not easy however and Old scored a season-low 87.5 pts.  This is even lower than Old's worse week in 2004 (week 5 with 94.5 pts).  Nate Clements was the unexpected leader for OldNo7 with 17 pts.  Clements got 4 tackles, 3 assists, 1 INT, 2 passes defended, and one forced fumble in a key performance to beat the Dolphins.  Jason Witten did not score a TD but got a decent game with 11 pts.  Aaron Brooks was putrid against the weak Packers D and scored a goose egg .  He sucks!  Julius Jones and Jimmy Smith both had disappointing games with 6 and 5 pts respectively.  Julius Peppers is a huge bust so far this year.  He still does not have a sack after 5 games and ranks 15th DL even though he was probably #1 on everybody's list before the season.

The Dugongs expected a horrible week with Joe Horn injured, K Collins on bye, Tony Gonzalez on bye, Derrick Johnson on bye and B Edwards injured (so no rookie to start).  And the Dugongs got what they expected with only 81 pts.  Only mistakes by the FE coach saved the Dugongs from last place.  The Dugongs were stuck with starting Joey Harrington against the Ravens D.  Harrington did not even get 100 passing yards, but fortunately he threw a short TD pass and he avoided getting negative points this week.  The Dugongs' RBs were the only bright spot with 29 pts combined.  It was the first good game by J Lewis this year.  E James continues to play well and he is currently the 6th best RB in the league. With Tony Gonzalez on the Dugongs' roster, M Pollard was expected to play only once this season: week #5 during Gonzo's bye.  Well Pollard chose week #5 to be shut out – he did not catch a pass.  Well, at least zero points was better than his week #4 performance of -1 pt .  The Ravens D continues to disappoint with only 4.5 pts against the Lions.  One has to wonder when the Dugongs will bench them and start the Falcons D instead.

FlyingElvis finished last for the 4th time in 5 weeks with 79 pts, only 2 pts behind the Dugongs and 8.5 pts behind OldNo7.  FE has enough problems for the moment, they don't need the coach to make mistakes on top of that.  J Wiggins started but he was on bye.  B Watson scored 9 pts on the bench.  That decision alone cost FE 2 ranks.  At WR, TJ Housh started but he was injured.  Another mistake.  S Moss scored 13 pts on the bench.  FE could have easily finished 5th this week.  The coach is on the hot seat and rumors are circulating that the GM beat him up after week #5 .  Aside from the coaching mistakes, M Harrison only scored 2 pts against the 49ers.  This is unbelievable.  The only good news was Tom Brady scoring 31 pts on the road against the tough Falcons D.  Brady almost scored more points than the remainder of FE's starters together.
