UncleJack recovered from last week's last place with a tie in first place.  Although Manning and Harrison did not light up the scoreboard against the Chargers, other players carried the load for once.  D Davis scored 20 pts or more for the 4th time in seven weeks.  He is now the 6th best RB in the league.  Rookie Clayton scored 20 pts as well to help UJ.  The Pats D was solid with 14.5 pts against the Jets.  They are the league's 3rd best defense behind the Ravens and Steelers.  UJ's DBs continue to excel as R Barber and Ed Reed each scored double-digits.  They are the league's 2nd and 3rd best DBs.  UJ has lost hope for a 4th place this season, but moved back in front of OldNo7 by 2 rank-points.  Week #17 will determine who finishes last this season.

The Spitoons came out of nowhere after six sub-par weeks with a tie in first place in week #16.  They erased any possibility of finishing 5th.  Now the Spitoons are 1.5 rank-point ahead of Wax in 3rd place and will fight for 3rd vs 4th place in week #17.  The Spitoons had a strong performance despite more mistakes by the coach.  The team started Westbrook who spent all game on the bench to rest.  A Williams was also a starter but did not play.  The team should have beat UJ without the coaching mistakes.  Shaun Alexander scored three TDs and 30 pts to lead the Spitoons to 1st place.  S Alex is the league's 2nd best RB (tied with LT) at 15.5 pts on average.  If we ignore the injured P Holmes, one can argue that S Alex has been the best RB this season.  B Favre's stats were not as good as Culpepper on Friday, but he got the W and 26 pts.  Tony Gonzalez also had a huge game with 29 pts.  He moved closer to A Gates as the league's best TE.

The Decepticons got another fairly close win against the BeaudoinBrothers and are almost assured of the league's championship because their lead is now 4.5 rank-points.  They simply need to avoid last place in week #17 to secure the league's title.  M Bennett benefited from O Smith's disease and got all the carries to Decepticons' benefit.  It was the 1st time this season that he did anything.  Culpepper's stats were good again despite him being one of the biggest losers in the NFL (like 2003 collapse by the Vikings).  He cannot produce when everything is on the line.  But his 31 pts were key for Decepticons.  Chad Johnson is having a very nice season end.  He scored another 20 pts and he is now the league's 5th best WR.  LB Donnie Edwards has been the Decepticons' MVP in the last few weeks.  This week he got another INT, a sack, a forced fumble, 2 passes defended, 5 tackles and 4 assists.  He has scored 108 pts in the last five weeks.  It now looks likely that he will be cut from Decepticons' roster in 2005 rather than underperforming Ray Lewis.  Lewis scored 13 pts which is nice, but as the league's 6th best LB, this is not what was expected from him.

The BeaudoinBrothers injuries and benched players cost them the win against Dec.  W McGahee was a game-time decision at 4pm so the coaches had no choice but to bench him.  He played despite his injury and scored 7 more points than S Taylor, which is the difference between the BeaudoinBrothers' 140.5 pts to Dec's 147.5 pts this week.  In addition, because McNabb was going to play only one quarter, he was benched.  The BeaudoinBrothers' depth at QB is not that good and Leftwich was injured and scored -1 pt.  On the bright side, Tomlinson scored a season-high 28 pts and will most likely stay in the BeaudoinBrothers' team next year as the franchise player.  K Bulluck also had a big game with 21 pts.  He moved up to 3rd best LB in the league.  The BeaudoinBrothers now only have a remote chance of winning the league.  They need a 1st place in week #17 and hope for Decepticons to collapse in last place.  The odds of that happening have been set to 80 for 1.  Note that the point difference in week #16 between Stover and Elam in week #16 was 9.5 pts which is more than the 7 pt difference between Dec and Beaud.  Rumors of kickers being yanked from the league in 2005 are back.

WaxOnWaxOff's late season struggles continue.  The team moved down to 4th place behind the Spitoons.  D McAllister continues to disappoint.  He scored a very average 10 pts.  He is the league's 17th best RB which is not what was expected for this 1st round pick.  It is far from certain that he will remain in Wax's team as the franchise player.  R Moss is still affected by his injury.  He scored a TD but only caught 2 passes.  J Walker scored 14 pts in T Owens' replacement which is ok, but Wax is getting no help at LB where L Arrington played sparingly and did not score a point.  Rookie C Palmer's injury came at a bad time for Wax because he was starting to play very well and was the league's 2nd best rookie.  With him injured, K Colbert started and scored a TD but that was his only catch so 6 pts is a disappointment.  The only good news was J Delhomme's 29 pts.  He is the league's 7th best QB which is a nice surprise.

OldNo7 collapsed to last place after three straight good weeks.  Now any hope for 4th place is gone and the team will need a good week #17 to beat UJ in the standings.  The coach started F Taylor but he did not play due to an injury.  D Mason only scored 7 pts against the Broncos.   The Chiefs D was ugly again with only 1.5 pt.  Rudi Johnson got a rare start for Old and scored 8 pts.  Rudi is the league's 13th best RB which is slightly below expectations.  Rookie K Jones continued to perform with 15 pts.  His late-season surge makes him a likely candidate to be cut from OldNo7's roster in 2005 because other owners will not let Old keep him.
