2004 Week #11
1st Place Decepticons 146.75 pts
2nd Place BeaudoinBrothers 146 pts
3rd Place WaxOnWaxOff 138.5 pts
The Decepticons beat the BeaudoinBrothers by a hair for the third time this season. This could be very important by the season's end. E James rarely scores TDs, but he gets a lot of yards. This week he got his best game of the year with 23 pts. Reggie Wayne continues to outplay M Harrison and scored two more TDs. Wayne is now the league's third best WR. As usual, the Ravens scored a TD and were almost spotless on defense. Culpepper had a below average performance, but 18 pts is not bad and it helped the Decepticons regain 1st place in the standings overall.
The BeaudoinBrothers keep losing by small margins and it is hurting the team. This week, a botched snap on an extra point of Stover cost the win to the BeaudoinBrothers. Rumors of eliminating kickers are back again. McNabb scored 27 pts against the tough Skins D. LT seems to have healed during his bye week as he finally had a good game with 20 pts. However, Jamal Lewis got injured at the beginning of the game so he scored zero and he is out for week #12 at least. This is a big blow for the BeaudoinBrothers because they don't have depth at the RB position. Antonio Gates continues to score TDs like an animal. He seems to be unstoppable. He scored 19 pts against the Raiders. Rookie McGahee continues to do a good job. He scored 10 pts and had a TD called back by a penalty. It's only a matter of time before he finds the end zone again.
WaxOnWaxOff finished third with 138.5 pts. T Owens scored another TD but unusually caught only two passes. The Steelers D continues to dominate and score. They got 20 pts against the Bengals. Rookie Colbert started instead of Palmer but scored only 3 pts against Palmer's 15 pts. This coaching decision cost the team the first place. However, it seemed normal to start Colbert against the Cards than Palmer vs the Steelers. Javon Walker scored another TD and has done an excellent job during Randy Moss's absence. Wax is the deepest team for 2005 with the highest quality backups at important positions.
UncleJack was on pace for a big week when the Colts killed the Bears, but Manning only threw one of his TD passes to M Harrison. Manning continues to lead the league with 28.7 pts per game. For comparison purposes, Priest led the league last year with 19.3 pts. In 2002, Priest was also the league leader with 22.4 pts per game. Manning will break many records until the end of the season. UJ did not finish in the top half because TJ Duckett cooled off with only 2 pts. Hines Ward has been silent with only 3 pts. Ward will probably bounce back though, especially if Plaxico is out due to an injury. Rookie Clayton scored "only" 7 pts, his worst game since week #3. Not bad for an off week. He leads all rookies in the league, which is a major surprise.
OldNo7 played without Priest again and finished 5th. It is almost impossible to win without a player of his quality. The backups are not doing the job. Portis' horrible season continues. He scored 2 pts and he is the 14th RB in the league. F Taylor scored 8 pts and he is the 17th RB in the league. The Chiefs D scored negative points again against the Pats offense at home. This is the third time in the last four weeks that they score negative points. One of the few good news for Old is that the defensive players have turned it around since the beginning of the season. J Farrior scored a TD, KGB got 2 sacks, and Milloy 3 sacks.
The Spitoons finished last for the 2nd straight week and dropped to fourth place in the standings. A Green got injured at the beginning of the game and it was costly for the Spitoons. However, they were going to have an awful week regardless. S Moss and D Jackson only scored 8 pts combined. Rookie Roy Williams have slowed down considerably and scored only 2 pts. He only has 11 pts in the last three weeks. He was leading all rookies by a big margin after four weeks, and now he is second and soon to be third.
