2004 Week #5
1st Place - Decepticons 186.5 pts
3rd Place BeaudoinBrothers 161 pts
Weekly summary: Steve is the only person who responded that he reads and enjoys the summary. I am not sure it's worth for me to continue if only one team in the league wants a summary!
Comment sent by Decepticons:
"It is becoming more and more clear that there are two distinct classes in PQBFL with the Decepticons, Beaudoin Brothers, and Wax all having impressive weeks. Dating back to week 4 of 2003, the lowest any of the three teams has been is 4th place (with Dec being either 1st or 2nd place since the beginning of 2003)."
Response by BeaudoinBrothers
I have to agree with this comment. Three teams are clearly on another level. Maybe I should write the weekly summary only for the teams interested in the summary: the BeaudoinBrothers and the Decepticons.
===========================
The Decepticons won for the 2nd time this year with the highest score of the year: 186.5 pts. Culpepper had one of the greatest games in the PQBFL history with 47 pts. He even outscored P Manning's week #3 peformance of 46 pts. Culpepper threw for 5 TD passes, almost 400 yds and no turnover. He is currently the best player in the PQBFL by the stunning margin of 6.8 pts over McNabb. E James had another strong and steady game of 17 pts. The Ravens D made fun of the Skins offense on Sunday Night football. They scored 2 TDs and only allowed 107 yds! Big Ben the rookie QB for the Steelers continues to do well. He scored 17 pts and is clearly outscoring C Palmer who was the first rookie drafted this year. It will be interesting to see if Big Ben stays the starter when Maddox comes back from his injury. This could be very important for the Decepticons.
WaxOnWaxOff finished 2nd for the fourth time in five weeks (two of these four were ties).
The BeaudoinBrothers got their highest score of the year with 161 pts but because this week was a high scoring week, they could not do better than 3rd place. David Carr was great with 31 pts in replacement for McNabb who was on a bye week. Starting Carr over Vick was a bold move by the BeaudoinBrothers' coaches. Vick was the early draft pick but has not done well this year. He was benched even though he was playing at home against the Lions. This was a great call by the coaches. Carr's favorite WR Andre Johnson also had a great game. He caught 2 TDs, 12 passes for 170 yds for a total of 32 pts! The WR position was supposed to be the BeaudoinBrothers' weakness this year, but A Johnson and Moulds are currently #4 and #5 in the WR standings. We should also mention that Anquan Boldin is coming back from his injury in the next few weeks. So the WR position may turn out to be a strength for the BeaudoinBrothers. Rookie Jonathan Vilma had another nice game with 9.5 pts including a sack. Rodney Harrison took over the lead of all DBs in the league with 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, and a total of 19 pts. The BeaudoinBrothers' LBs can be blamed for not beating Wax. Bulluck and Thornton only scored 4.5 pts and 5 pts. This position has been a sore spot all year for the BeaudoinBrothers.
UncleJack finished 4th by edging the Spitoons by only 2.5 pts.
The Spitoons took another week off and finished 5th.
OldNo7 is dead last in the standings and finished last for the 2nd week out of five this season. They are getting worse every week. Their weekly score was: 120, 118.5, 111.5, 104.5, and 94.5.
