2003 Week #15
1st Place BeaudoinBrothers 151.5 pts
The BeaudoinBrothers came up with another eye-popping performance of 151.5 pts. Aaron Brooks came up big in relief for injured McNair with 38 pts. The record of 150.5 pts in a week held up for about 4.5 years, and suddenly the BeaudoinBrothers beat it for two consecutive weeks! They have now scored 445 pts in the last three weeks. Needless to say this is a new record. The previous record for a 3-week stretch was 416.5 pts between weeks #7 and #9 in 2000 (BeaudoinBrothers). In week #16, the BeaudoinBrothers will try to tie their own record of 4 straight wins. However, this feat was never accomplished in a 4-week span in the same season (it was from week #15 in 2002 to week #1 2003). There is a reason why this has never been done. Certain players can only be on fire for so long. Clinton Portis's injury in OT sent a cold shower on the BeaudoinBrothers fans. It is still unclear whether he will be able to play in week #16. If he is unable to go, it will significantly reduce the BeaudoinBrothers's chances of continuing their comeback and beating the Decepticons. The BeaudoinBrothers were 13.5 pts behind three weeks ago. The Decepticons's lead has been cut to 2.5 pts. Amazing.
The Spitoons got their best performance ever with 126.5 pts. The Spitoons have scored 334.5 pts in the last three weeks, an average of over 110 per week. Only the BeaudoinBrothers have done better during that period. Joe Horn caught 4 TDs and scored 40 pts. However, his stupidity took over when he used his cell phone in the end zone to celebrate a touchdown. The Panthers D was dominating and scored 14 pts in an important win against the Cards. Bulger and Faulk scored 31 pts together against the Seahawks. Jimmy Smith is the only player on the Spitoons which had a sub-par performance with only 5 pts.
Aside from the controversy with OldNo7's lineup, OldNo7 came through with a performance of 120 pts to beat both Wax and Decepticons. The team is now tied with Wax in 3rd place and owns the tie-breaker because they have more total points scored than Wax. OldNo7 is now 4.5 pts away from first place and still has hopes to win the league. In week #15, Trent Green and Priest Holmes had fun at home against the shitty Lions. They scored 58 pts together and Green did not even throw a TD pass to Priest. OldNo7 failed to beat Spitoons because the team still has problems at the WR#2 position behind Chad Johnson. Moulds only scored 5 pts. He has struggled all year. The TE position is also problematic. Billy Miller was held scoreless.
WaxOnWaxOff remained in the race for the league championship by moving from 6.5 pts behind Decepticons to 4.5 pts behind. They still have an outside chance of winning the league. Tomlinson scored 29 pts and solidified his 3rd place among all RBs. Harrison scored twice in the Colts' massacre of the Falcons. The good news for Wax was probably Onterrio Smith's breakout performance. Smith benefited from Michael Bennett's injury to rush for 148 yards. Smith has not had the season that most anticipated, but a late-season surge may compensate. However, the team still has a problem at TE. Shockey still has not come back from his injury.
UncleJack finished fifth with 106 pts. UJ started strong with the 1pm games. Manning continued to dominate as the best QB in the league with 5 TD passes and 39 pts. Tony Gonzalez scored 22 pts in a 1pm game also. UJ was going towards an easy win, but the team fell flat at 4pm. Garner and Lewis scored 15 pts combined. Ward and Boston only scored 12 pts combined. The Ravens D disappointed with only 4 pts. UJ was able to hold on to fifth place by beating Decepticons by only 2 pts.
The Decepticons had a second bad week in the last three weeks with another last place. Actually, this week the team was not so bad - the Decepticons scored 104 pts, which is the best score of the year for a last place. It's the other teams that were better. The Decepticons are seeing their first place lead melting like snow in June. The team is starting to feel the heat of the BeaudoinBrothers' ferocious comeback. There are reports from a very trustable source that the coach lost his temper during Monday Night Football and called his 1st round pick Ricky Williams a "fucking pussy" after he left the game and Travis Minor scored a rushing TD. The Decepticons are not used to be in a championship race and the panic is setting in. Culpepper failed to deliver with a below-average 10-pt performance. Rookie Andre Johnson has also slowed down. He has only scored 8 pts in the last three weeks. The Decepticons remain favorites to win the league though, especially due to Portis's injury and McNair's injury for the BeaudoinBrothers.
