2003 Week #10

1st Place OldNo7 127 pts

2nd Place Decepticons 100 pts

3rd Place UncleJack 99 pts

4th Place BeaudoinBrothers 91.5 pts

5th Place WaxOnWaxOff 82 pts

6th Place Spitoons 70 pts

OldNo7 won for the second straight week with a crushing 28-pt win.  Ahman Green exploded for 30 pts on Monday Night Football.  Priest Holmes scored 23 more pts.  Green and Holmes lead all other RBs by 2.4 pts.  Trent Green also scored 32 pts against the Browns.  Rookie Boldin scored for a second straight game and continues to lead all rookies in the league.  OldNo7 now becomes a serious contender to the title as they are now tied with Wax in 2nd place and only 4.5 pts behind the Decepticons.  OldNo7 has only scored 4 fewer total pts than Decepticons (970.5 pts vs 966.5 pts).

The Decepticons finished 2nd as usual.  This time, they were lucky to escape in a close call against UncleJack.  The Decepticons coach messed up again and it almost cost the  team the 2nd place.  The coach started Shannon Sharpe who was on a bye week.  Backup Wesley Walls did not light up the scoreboard, but his 2 pts could have made the difference in such a close contest.  It did not make a difference, but the Decepticons deserved to lose to UJ due to that mistake.  The Decepticons increased their lead in first place by benefiting for Wax's struggles.  Five of the nine starters for Decepticons scored 5 pts or less.  However, Culpepper scored 34 pts and the Titans 26 pts to boost the team score to 100 pts.

UncleJack got fucked by Decepticons by one point on Sunday Night Football.  Jamal Lewis's two fumbles were very costly.  Hines Ward led the team with 21 pts.  Tony Gonzalez had a good game with 16 pts in a rare start.  He is normally the backup to Todd Heap.  That proved to be a nice move for the UJ coach because Heap scored 8 pts.  Charlie Garner only gained 9 yards so he scored a goose egg.  Rookie Toefield only got 5 yds and did not score a point either.

The BeaudoinBrothers continue to be average and finished fourth for the third time in the last four weeks.  This was not expected to be the BeaudoinBrothers' best week with Portis on a bye week, Carney on a bye, and the Patriots on a bye with the Dolphins D playing in Tennessee.  Moss continued his great season with 22 pts and he passed Torry Holt in first place of the WR rankings.  Marcus Pollard has picked up his play recently and he scored 13 pts this week.  Olindo Mare just plain sucks and the BeaudoinBrothers are happy that John Carney's bye is behind.

WaxOnWaxOff does not seem to be able to get out of a 3-week slump.  Injuries have hit Wax hard this week.  Jeremy Shockey was the #1 TE in the league prior to this week.  He got injured and he will be out several weeks, maybe for the rest of the season.  Backup TE Riemersma is the 11th best TE in the league so this injury hurts very bad.  Also, Marvin Harrison got injured after catching his TD pass in the first quarter.  A few bad weeks and some key injuries, and now the season does not look good for Wax.  Kerry Collins got his first start of the season and rewarded the coach with a putrid zero point game at home against the Falcons.  In the only bright spot of the week, LT scored 30 pts and he is now the 3rd best RB in the league.

The Spitoons finished last for the 6th time in 10 weeks.  Bulger had his worse game of the season with -3 pts.  Rookie Leftwich had a great game with 18 pts but his effort proved useless.  The Spitoons need 10 pts in the last 7 weeks to avoid beating the record for the shittiest season in the history of the league (26 pts by OldNo7 in 2000).
