2003 Week #7
1st Place WaxOnWaxOff 104.5 pts
2nd Place Decepticons 95.5 pts
4th Place BeaudoinBrothers 83.5 pts
WaxOnWaxOff won for the fourth time in the last five weeks. It was the second lowest winning score of the season with 104.5 pts. Wax's RBs pulled great games with 20+ pts each. This was a big win for Wax who were playing without Marvin Harrison who was on a bye week. This has been an almost perfect season for Wax and the team has yet to have any significant injuries.
The Decepticons ended their 2-week slump with another 2nd place. Culpepper came back from his injury at the right time because backup Plummer is now injured. Culpepper scored 25 pts to lead the team. Torry Holt is having the best season of his career and scored two more touchdowns. The team has failed to beat Wax due to subpar performances by RBs. Ricky Williams scored single-digit pts for the third straight week.
OldNo7 escaped week #7 with a third place without rookie Boldin who was out on a bye week. Old had nobody else to replace him. Priest Holmes's TD late in the MNF game allowed the team to barely beat the BeaudoinBrothers and the Spitoons. Those were very important pts for Old who is trying to stay within striking distance of the leaders.
The BeaudoinBrothers got hurt by a key injury in the first half of a game the third time in seven weeks. Gannon got injured on MNF and that cost the team a rank against Old. Gannon has been a major disappointment so far. His injury will not hurt the BeaudoinBrothers for weeks #8 and later because McNair has been red-hot. He was benched in week #8 because he was playing at Carolina. If the BeaudoinBrothers had started him, they would have tied Wax for first place. Big mistake.
The Spitoons scored a season-high 81.5 pts but unfortunately came up short in their effort to finish in the top half of the standings. Bulger scored over 20 pts for the third straight game. Horn got his best game of the season with 21 pts. The Spitoons need M Faulk to come back from his injury ASAP because Eddie George is simply not doing the job. He his 26th in the RB leaders list. The Panthers surprisingly scored minus one pt against the Titans, which hurt the Spitoons in such a close week.
UncleJack finished last for the second time in the last four weeks. With Manning and Ward on a bye week, a rough week was expected for UJ. The Ravens scored a goose egg against the lowly Bengals. Jamal Lewis got his worst game of the season with 9 pts. Charlie Garner disappointed again with 8 pts. UJ's WRs scored only 6 pts together. UJ's lead on the last place Spitoons is 10 pts.
