2003 Week #5
2nd Place BeaudoinBrothers 107 pts
WaxOnWaxOff made a great comeback on Monday Night football to beat the BeaudoinBrothers. This is the 3rd straight win by Wax. Next week, Wax will try to tie the record of 4 straight wins set by the BeaudoinBrothers earlier this year. Harrison had his second straight game with 30 pts or more. He now leads all WRs with 19.0 pts per game.
Portis came back from his injury and sparked the BeaudoinBrothers to a second place. Moss had another great game with Gus Frerotte as the QB. These two seem to have a better connection than Culpepper and Moss. The BeaudoinBrothers suffered a big blow on Tuesday when Charles Rogers broke his collarbone during practice and will miss at least one month. Rookie kicker Josh Brown will replace him in the lineup in the meantime.
UncleJack had a less than stellar week with only 71.5 pts but finished 3rd nonetheless, thanks to the Decepticons’s coaching mistake. Jamal Lewis was on bye week so UJ was happy to escape with a 3rd place. Garcia led the way with three TDs. Rod Smith had his first big game of the year with 16 pts.
The Decepticons did not finish 2nd for the first time this season and lost the first overall spot to WaxOnWaxOff. The Decepticons’ coach made the mistake to start Andre Johnson who was on a bye week instead of Byron Leftwich. That cost 25 pts. On the positive side, this is a mistake that could have cost several ranks, but it only cost one.
OldNo7 had their worst outing of the season with only 60.5 pts. McNabb’s horrendous season continues as he scored only 4 pts. Priest Holmes was held out of the end zone for the second consecutive week. That cannot be expected to happen for very long. The Colts D had been doing pretty well this season, but scored negative 3.5 pts against the Bucs.
Finally, there is only one thing to say about the Spitoons: they suck.
