Week #16

Weekly summary provided by Decepticons!

Week 16 saw tightening races up and down the standings, with each of Wax, FE, and Decepticons shaving 4 rank-points off of the team directly ahead of them in the standings. As a result, PQBFL has several exciting two-team races heading into the last two weeks of the season. BeaudoinBros and Wax only separated by a point for 1st place overall; GB ahead of FE by only 3 rank points for 3rd place; and Old ahead of Dec by 2.5 points for 5th place.

Wax, despite being in 2nd place overall, is the favorite to win the PQBFL 2023 championship heading into week 17. Wax is the leader in overall points and has a reasonably healthy roster. Just imagine how dominant Wax would have been if Breece Hall had not gotten injured, as none of Wax other rookies have panned out leaving Wax with a zero for the Rookie slot most weeks. The week 16 win for Wax was led by a huge week from TJ Hockenson with 13 receptions and 2 TDs led the way in week 16. Justin Jefferson was his usual superb self; Josh Allen was subpar for his standards, but that is still better most QBs; Saquon had a TD and 130+ total yards; and Nick Bosa had a huge game.

FE cruised to second place, just missing out on 1st, in week 16, led by CeeDee Lamb making Eagles fans cry with 10 receptions and 2TDs, George Kittle with another 2TDs, Foye Oluokun continuing his LB1 season with 2 forced fumbles among an otherwise busy day, and adequate performances elsewhere including from Baker Mayfield in an LA Rams uniform saving FE’s season with no other viable healthy quarterback on the roster.

ProfMJ took 3rd place in a 23-point window from 3rd-to-8th place in week #16. For only the 4th time this year Prof is not in last place overall and actually has a shot to climb all the way to 7th and surpass the spiraling Admirals.

Decepticons came in 4th place just ahead of Beaud in 5th place week #16. This was due to a huge week from the LA Rams offense and defense who bullied the Broncos all over the field. The swing in points between Dec and Beaud from this one game was huge with Dec having the LA Rams defense and its 4 interceptions, one returned for a TD, and 6 sacks. Three of those INTs and all 6 sacks were against Russell Wilson for Beaud. All the while, Beaud also started the Broncos defense who were run over by the Rams offense for 44 points and 388 yards.

Beaud’s outlook for maintaining the overall lead on Wax is not bright. At quarterback Derek Carr is benched, Jalen Hurts is hurting, and Russell Wilson has been a huge disappointment. Meanwhile at running back Derrick Henry is injured.

After charging hard through week #14, the Bastards have run out of steam and will do everything they can to hold off FE for 3rd place.

The Admirals, Old, and Ballers took up the bottom 3 ranks in Week #16 with injuries (Admirals) and poor coaching efficiency (Old and Balers) to blame.
