Week #10

The Decepticons pulverized the competition and beat their own all-time record of 223.5 pts established in 2017 week #12 with a massive 238.5 pts this week.  The WR duo M Evans and T Lockett who had scored 58.5 pts combined in week #9 were not even factors this week with only 12.25 pts so Dec could have flirted with the 250-pt mark if the WRs had done better this week.  Just on defense alone, Dec scored 95 pts led by J Adams who scored a TD, sacked D Jones twice and forced two fumbles.  The Rams D also scored a TD and finished the week with 21.5 pts, the second time in their last three games that they score exactly this total.  In the same game LB Littleton was active with 18 pts mostly with tackles and assists.  Even though J Adams was dominant at the DB position, rookie Daniel Jones otherwise had a good game with 4 TDs, even his 35.75 pts topped QB Mahomes who scored 33.75 pts and threw one of his TDs to Kelce for the first time since week #2 so it was about time.  Unfortunately Dec only picked up one rank-point on Beaud.  The Cons have beat the Bros four straight weeks to cut their lead to half a rank-point in first place in the standings; it’s been a long march to the top but Dec is almost there.

The BeaudoinBrothers fielded a complete lineup for once and rebounded with 186.75 pts after a string of three subpar weeks.  It was the first time Beaud finished in the blue in the last 4 weeks after finishing top 3 in five of the first 6 weeks.  With Thielen and TY Hilton sidelined, backups A Robinson and J Landry were better than in recent weeks with 25.5 pts combined particularly Landry who outscored his teammate ODB (Sun).  RB D Henry rewarded the coach who started him with 28.75 pts and single handedly beat the Chiefs.  Henry starting meant A Jones was relegated to the bench but he was the wrong RB to bench due to his 3 TDs while Chubb started and was limited to 10 pts.  At TE Ebron was on the field for more snaps than in recent weeks and he was targeted 12 times but only converted on 5 receptions against the weak Dolphins so he can be blamed for the Colts’ loss.  On defense the Browns duo Schobert and M Garrett did not get the job done with only 8 pts combined, partially offsetting the Ravens who dominated the Bengals with 2 TDs and 23 pts.  The week’s best scorer for Beaud was rookie K Murray who threw for 3 TDs and scored 31.75 pts.

WaxOnWaxOff finished third for the second straight week and while they still languish in 7th place in the standings, Wax is now only 4 rank-points behind fourth place (Adm).  Wax had a chance to beat Beaud on MNF but kicker Gould missed the game to injury and the coach made the mistake a starting loser RB R Penny who only carried the rock twice for 2 yards and lost a fumble to finish with minus 3 pts.  Wax should have started RB R Jones who was benched with 10.75 pts so this decision alone made the difference between 2nd and 3rd while the kicker injury was possibly was not consequential with Wax finishing 9 pts behind Beaud and the 49ers backup kicker scoring 8.5 pts.  QB L Jackson is slowing turning out to be worth the trade earlier this year, Jackson scored 38.5 pts against the Bengals and he’s only 0.1 pt per game behind Mahomes and is suddenly looks like a candidate for franchise player.  Ty Hill also had a big game with 25 pts, TE K Rudolph chose the perfect week to score 2 TDs with Ertz on bye, and the Steelers did the same with 24.5 pts while the Eagles D was on bye as well.  In that game TJ Watt got two sacks and scored 16 pts to move up to 3rd best LB in the PQBFL.

The Admirals finished 4th but very far behind Wax this week with 137 pts compared to Wax 175.75 pts.  QB D Carr led his team to victory but it was not smooth sailing, needing a last minute TD from his RB Jacobs (Bas) to win the game while Carr himself only threw for 1 TD against the Chargers D.  Carr’s 12.5 pts was below his weekly projection, and between Mayfield (18.75 pts) and Garoppolo (7.25 pts) who were benched.  At RB Adm got crumbs from Ingram who scored a short TD.  More was expected than just 9 rushes for 34 yards against the Bengals given that the Ravens were ahead all game long.  Gurley was a non-factor against the Steelers with only 5 pts and dropped to RB19 so far which is not even starting RB material – a shame for a franchise player.  The best game of the week for Adm was WR Kirk who came back to health with a bang thanks to 3 TDs and 33.75 pts.  TE Andrews was not bad either, taking advantage of Ingram being underused; Andrews scored 2 TDs and 19.5 pts.  Defense was more of a struggle with only 0.5 pt from the Vikings and 6 pts combined from DLs D Hunter and J Bosa.

OldNo7 scored an adequate 129.5 pts but this week it was no better than 5th place.  Old was hampered by not having a TE to start due to Engram’s injury and Goedert being on bye.  WR Hopkins was also on bye but normally Godwin and K Allen can score as well as Hopkins but this week they were ok but not great with 24.75 pts together.  At RB McCaffrey scored 15.75 pts which is good for most RB but below his already quite high projection.  One TD and 141 yards is not even good enough by his own standards.  T Coleman started alongside McCaffrey and he was limited to 6 pts on MNF with Michel on bye , McCoy a healthy scratch, and K Johnson injured.  Rookie Montgomery did well in weeks 8-9 but he was back to his pedestrian stats this week with only 5 pts.  Defense was so-so as well for Old with the Bills losing to the Browns and scored 7 pts, Poyer 8 pts in that game was ok but not better than expected and LB Mack did not do as well with only 3 pts.  The lone bright spot on defense for Old was Buckner who scored a TD and finished the game with 13 pts which was a boost to Old.

The Ballers scored 110.5 pts this week and edged FlyingElvis by a hair to play trouble-makers towards the top of the standings.  With this performance the Ballers jumped right back above the SunshineBoys for last place.  The Ballers being able to beat FE this week was quite an accomplishment given that the team had no rookie and no DB to start, two of them being injured and three being on bye.  LB M Jack and DL Campbell were also on bye, forcing Christian Jones into the lineup at defensive flex and he only scored a single point.  DL Trey Flower did better in replacement for Campbell with 12 pts and LB Edmunds was good as well with 12.5 pts.  On MNF the Ballers needed just a few points from RB Breida to put FE away who had LB Wagner.  Breida was a non-factor but his 2 points were just what Ball needed.  At QB Josh Allen lost in Cleveland but at least he scored 2 TDs with no turnover for 21 pts which topped his weekly projection.  K Golladay scored a long TD for 13.75 pts and Mixon also had a good day with 151 total yards against the Ravens which was surprising although no TD.

FlyingElvis suffered a rough week with both Dec and Beaud finishing at the top and FE finishing in the red for the first time since week #1.  FE had a golden opportunity to beat the Ballers in overtime on MNF given that the Ballers’ RB Breida was not even on the field in OT.  It was RB Mostert who was on the field with 5 touches in OT, not Breida or T Coleman.  So all FE needed was one tackle from LB Wagner but he could not get it done, his 12.5 pts in regulation were also his final score despite the 49ers having two drives in OT.  Most of FE’s starting lineup was suckness, beginning with QB A Rodgers who stunk for the second straight week with 8.25 pts against the Panthers, not exactly a stellar defense.  Franchise player Barkley was even worse with a whopping single rushing yard on 13 carries against a bad defense from the Jets – he cannot possibly be healthy.  But how about C Kupp?  He is supposed to be one of the league’s top WRs and he did not even catch a pass on 4 targets while Everett and Woods got 23 targets combined.  Kicker Succop came back to health in time for Fairbairn’s bye week but he scored only 1 point.  It did not help that the Pats D was on bye for FE but at least the Colts were well positioned to score Pats-level scoring given the matchup at home against the Dolphins.  The Colts D was not too bad with 11 pts but they could have done better and they lost the game.

The GloriousBastards had their worst week of the season with only 104.5 pts and finished 8th, now falling behind Adm in the standings with OldNo7 close, only 1 rank-point behind.  It was not entirely clear who the starting QB was for Bas, but with Brady on bye and Goff forced to start, now it has become clear.  Goff was an unmitigated disaster with no TD, 2 INTs, one fumble lost, and two fumbles not lost for a total of minus 3 pts.  Kicker Rosas was also in negative territory this week with -2 points with Lambo on bye.  At least with the Broncos on bye, Bas did not score negative points at that position since they had nobody else to start!  College QB Eason came close to finishing with a minus as well with a goose egg because of his 0 TD 2 INT performance.  Very rarely do we ever see a trio of defensive players score almost half of an entire PQBFL team, but it just about happened for Bas this week with LB Leonard scoring 26.5 pts, R Smith 11 pts, and DB Bates 13 pts for a total of 50.5 pts from these guys alone.  At WR M Thomas was active with 13 receptions but was held out of the end zone like the rest of the Saints who had a bad upset loss at home.  The Bastards’ other WR Diggs had another game to pull hair out with only 3 receptions for 9 freakin’ yards despite Thielen being out to injury.

The SunshineBoys finished last this week with 86.75 pts which was the 4th straight week in the bottom two in the standings.  It’s hard to expect anything good without a starting QB, this week D Watson was on bye, and bad luck hit because it happened to be the exact same week that Stafford who is normally always playing but his timing for his injury could not have been worse to miss the game.  As if it was not enough, Dalton got benched by the Bengals and E Manning has been passing out Gatorade for a while.  The one strength of this team is supposed to be WRs with ODB and JJSS but they both sucked again with only 14.75 pts combined.  The TE position is another sorry mess since Dissly got injured several weeks ago, with V McDonald scoring 2.5 pts this week and Ji Graham 4.75 pts on the bench.  Sun’s rookie has not done much all year regardless who started and with Fant on bye, G Pratt came back to the starting lineup with 4 pts.  Defense was nothing special except for Vander Esch who scored 13 pts but those points would have been better last week when such a score would have beat the Bros; this week Sun was deep in last place that it did not matter.
